The threads popping up about Katy Perry's new single are proof that pitting female artists against each other starts with the fans, and are we really still going to do this?

I understand the conversations when two artists release on the same day, I understand the fun in guessing where a song is going to peak, and I definitely understand comparisons when two artists are fighting with each other in lyrics or interviews. But Gaga is doing her own thing, she has nothing new on the radio, and we have threads that are about comparing her (unheard) new music with Katy and fans here who are literally losing sleep because they're worried Katy is going to do better than Gaga. Ladies and gays, stop the comparisons. They're helping no one. It's been almost six years since ARTPOP, are we still teens with no real life problems to focus on?

Gaga does not support this behavior, and it is toxic for female artists. It's also toxic for you. End rant.

TL;DR - I'm 26 years old with real life problems, my president is destroying the lives of people I know, and no one knows if the planet will still be habitable in 25 years. I am too busy with all of that to understand why we're still comparing Miss Hudson to Miss Germanotta.

I've realised that most active members nowadays are late teenagers, and us entering in our late 20s (and ruled GGD years ago) are the minority. So, it's impossible to make them see that these feud issues lead nowhere  try to tell them that there's a real life that doesn't include Gaga and they will shoot you.

I actually found the comments in the NRO threads to be mostly positive!  That's a good thing compared to how GGD reacts when Katy is mentioned before the witness era. 

Katy served during NRO. It's not groundbreaking pop music but it's undoubtedly a fun, catchy, easy-going Katy song and that's what we have missed from her.

I was one of those who disliked Katy during the whole ROAR x Applause thing that happened and I just dismissed her music just because it was from her. But now I learned to appreciate her for the music she does. I learned to accept hers and Gaga's different take in music regardless if she has good live vocals or not. I just accepted they are different flavors that you can listen to in different days.

Well, I invite you to visit any Brazilian pop culture forum and you'll see what hate really is. But if you don't speak Portuguese, just go to atrl.
