I think we should give Gaga a break

I mean, I love y'all as a community, and I think it's okay to joke about Gaga once in a while, but some comments here have grown to be hostile towards the woman who's basically the reason we are connected here. It's just that I feel like some of us have been acting rather entitled, like she owes us her life.

So Gaga first 'divided' the ones who liked jazz and the ones who didn't with Cheek to Cheek in 2014. Now because Enigma is a Vegas residency, people accuse her of not caring about her international fans. A Star Is Born was appreciated by most fans, but if a movie with an acclaimed soundtrack is still considered by some fans as a 'side-project', 'ASIB doesn't count!!!! Her last true album was Joanne and it's been a while!'

She literally just opened a fcking museum yesterday with the meat dress in it and the VMA blood stain still on it. And some people are already over it. You're over Enigma cause you already saw the opening show. You're over A Star Is Born cause you've seen the movie. You're over the museum cause how long does it take to glance through the outfits? 5 minutes perhaps.

New music is awesome, but it takes time to create. Music doesn't drop from the sky. This woman just gave us A Star Is Born, won three Grammys, got nominated for five, won an Oscar, killed Met Gala, and is probably thinking of ways to update the show as well as preparing for a possible extension and negotiating contracts with MGM. And in the meantime, she's supposed to create new music, she might also be considering new acting roles, she has contracts to fulfill.

Can we also take a moment to realise she's a human who has a private life? She's a 33 year-old woman who has to figure out life as a megastar and as a woman. Tony Bennett and Bradley Cooper aren't there by her side every single day. All she has right now is her family, her team and her fans. She broke off her engagement more than once, is single at the moment, and probably goes to sleep every day alone, in total silence. Who knows if she ever feels alone?

What I'm saying is, the amount of time you spend on consuming music and entertainment is far more rapid than the time put into the creation of it, whether it's an album or a show, you simply can't expect Gaga to create something after months and months of attending meetings, recording lines, rehearsals and visiting studios, and ditch it after a week cause you crave something new. Where is the economic logic in that? She only performed 12 Vegas shows and she's supposed to do 74.

I'm not sure about you but when I first saw this interview, I was surprised that she would say that because she's always been very explicit with her fans. This woman said 'I would die for my fans.' at the artRAVE. And we all have noticed how she's distanced herself from social media, she used to do Q&As, telling her fans about new music (rmb the 'stupid pop stars rules' tweet?) but now it's almost nothing apart from (I'm so honoured... I'm so excited... I am so humbled to be nominated...)

Like what kind of damage do you have to go through to experience a growth like this? What was she running away from? Even from her fans? The woman who'd die for us?

Don't get me wrong. I am looking forward to new music, but give it time. Give Enigma time. Give Gaga time. She might not even visit this site, and thank God she has screaming fans night after night to remind her that what she's doing is cherished, but let her breathe, she deserves it.

I agree with you mostly

The one thing I take issue with is when you say, "she's given us a residency, she's given us a museum". No, she's given some fans a residency and museum, she's given some fans a crappy 180p livestream and pictures of the museum. She owes us nothing, but to claim that she's given all of her fans ENIGMA and the Haus store, is just pretty ignorant since many fans would give everything to go, but cannot afford it, or are too young.

I agree that she should be given a chance to write music in her own time. But for many fans, ASIB is the only new content (shows, performances, songs) we've had in the past three years, whereas other fans have had more.

I agree but for someone who "writes music every day", i'm sure she could at least give us one F$%^ING SONG a la' Katy/Ariana/Rihanna etc. Not everything has to be a world premiere/come back, we just wanna dance to some new POP music that I'm sure she has hundreds of.

literally facts. gaga takes herself too seriously i think. not everything has to be a huge, dramatic statement. just drop a buzz single for crying out loud. the fans are THIRSTY and the museum was cute but we want MUSIC

A perfect example is the $4000 jackets. She opens a museum, puts out the most iconic beloved pieces for fans to come see, does NOT charge admission and the proceeds of all the sales go to CHARITY! Even with all that there is a 14 page b*tch thread about “ she’s money hungry” “ it’s poor quality trash” “ why is it in Vegas” nonsense. Why are you a fan if you want to pick apart everything she does?
