I support PETA and my social life is fine thanks - and not sure what my support/non-support of PETA would have to do with it.

True revolutionaries try to fix things where they can. Just because we can't solve every problem in the world at once doesn't mean we shouldn't care about any of them.

And there's plenty of people who have similar logic about gay people. "It doesn't affect me, why should I care about queers? There's more important issues. Why should I care about gays rights to marry when there's children starving in the world?" Again, an ignorant mentality a--logous to the ones I'm seeing in this thread.

I hope you seriously don't support PETA without knowing any of their err...long-standing internal politics, scandals and raging misogyny for example.

Sorry but PETA is right. She's purposely acting like a jerk to try and get attention. And for all of you who whine about bullying but don't care about animal rights - um duh. Do you realize how many people don't care about YOUR rights? Oh but of course, then it's wrong and horrible - when it affects YOU.

And then you turn around and decide not to care about the rights of a defenseless creature. Like how about realizing that EVERY LIVING THING on this Earth should have rights?

And what about cows that lives in boxes that can't move and will be killed by cutting their troath so all the blood can spill out? This is not madness to your eyes? I'm willing to have discussions about fur and the ethics of it (I'm not a fan, and was disappointed about furgate--though it's still sorta inconclusive which pieces she's worn have been real, if any [though I wouldn't really doubt it]). I was disappointed, and would continue to be if she continued to wear fur, but it admittedly wouldn't be a breaking point for me (I eat too much fast food that utilizes factory farm raised animals to throw too big a fit about this--and I know the philosophical differences one can argue over food vs. fur, but again, it's more that I know some of the fast food chains I patronize probably use animals not treated humanely. Not proud of it, but it's so ingrained in my lifestyle it would be hard to quit, though I might make a greater effort of it now)

But I don't see how wearing faux is childish or an "antic." LOL. This is clearly a faux stole, and isn't faux what PETA wants people to wear? That PETA predictably ran with it without fact checking is a perfectly valid commentary by Gaga on the specific rhetoric they and others employ. Not just valid, pretty timely and necessary.
