Without Me was a huge let-down and I feel like she's never achieved anything close to the brilliance she did on Badlands. But this sounds like it's a return to form. Not a big fan of the video and it's all a bit too much visually to take in but the song is really good and is a great sum-up of what it means to be a woman especially in 2019. And for her to release this very anti-mainstream song that isn't a stripped-back trap beat is a huge risk that I commend her for. After having her first ever #1 with Without Me, I thought she'd be really tempted to keep going in that blander direction to ensure further success but no, she threw this crazy flick of the dice instead.
