This is what I thought ARTPOP would sound like

Holly Herndon (born 1980) is an American composer, musician, and sound artist[1] based in San Francisco, California. She is currently a doctoral student at Stanford University studying composition. Her music is primarily computer-based and often uses the visual programming language Max/MSP to create custom instruments and vocal processes.

Proto is the third studio album by American electronic musician Holly Herndon. The album was created in a collaboration with an AI program named "Spawn", created by Herndon and Mat Dryhurst, and located in a "DIY souped-up gaming PC". It features "live vocal processing and timeless folk singing" with an "emphasis on alien song craft".

I mean this is SO ARTPOP. Teaching artificial intelligence to create music that sounds like Art. Would you have been here for ARTPOP sounding like this? What about LG6?

But how should Gaga perform this?

As far as I know, there are some "live teaching sessions" in which she teaches the program a song and then performs it together with the program. It's supposed to be like a jam session with the AI.

This would have been so cool for Enigma with the hologram technology and interludes. Everyone thought there would be a Hatsune Miku element to the show, so imagine a song like these ones performed both by Gaga and one or many holograms of herself like a choir omg

YAS that sounds so cool.

But I don't think Interscope would ever approve something so experimental.

I have a feeling some songs that she prepared for ARTPOP sounded like this. Maybe Onion Girl? For ACT II?

the problem with Gaga is that she talks about these deep intricate concepts but she never develops them fully cause she never goes full underground. all the ARTPOP talk about technology just to have a couple Zedd produced tracks? an EDM album in 2013? what about experimental electronic music? what about really pushing boundaries?

Beyoncé working with Boots for the self titled would be the best example of a mainstream artist doing something out of the box. She had mainstream songs like Pretty Hurts or XO but then switched to more experimental tracks like Ghost/Haunted, even Partition and Flawless sound more interesting than anything on ARTPOP.

I'm really hoping for her to go full Gaga on LG6.

That sounds like funeral :diane:

But her other songs are pretty good. But that is very segmented sounds. I don't see this as something that Gaga would do. Although she is artistic person, she is also signed to a major label who seeks profits. She need to keep those two thing in perfect balance.

Back then I though Gaga can do something that  Aphex Twins did, or even get him to work with her. Even that is already too segmented for her crowds. And her team even had to water down that track bought from Infected Mushroom so much that very little of its essence left anymore.

And this also exactly why I don't not think her works that Gaga did with her current collaborators like SOPHIE will sounds too segmented. They will make something that is still easy to digest for her crowds with Gaga.
