There's been rumors that Beyoncé is actually a simpleton and doesn't understand very basic things due to not getting a proper education. Hence why she stopped giving interviews frequently and doesn't reveal a lot about herself. It could be baloney but it's not out of the realm of possibility

but then how does she memorize lyrics and sing? she just out a doc and a lot of it is her talking, basically an interview.

I thought this was a well known fact, he said it on several occasions I think. His form of writing is coming up with lyrics on the spot and someone writes them down.

The rumors are rooted in racism. There are lots of former child stars who arguably didn't receive the best education, but I don't see people claiming they can't read like they do with Beyonce (I'm not saying people don't call popgirls or Justin Timberlake dumb, but Beyonce gets the worst of the dumb rumors).  Only the Black woman gets slammed with the most over the top version of these types of claims.

*Also, I'm old enough to remember when Bey used to get dragged on occasion (it stopped around 2012-2013). She never came across as dumb, but she came across as snarky and a bit mean at times and it clashed with her "nice girl" persona (I love Bey, so don't come for me Beyhive). Katy and Taylor built their image as "nice girls" long after Bey, and Taylor got dragged the instant she wasn't "nice". She also got dragged for being egotistical (so did Gaga). The thing is the media was and is never as harsh with male entertainers: for men, ego is seen as confidence and so on. Men aren't expected to do a million interviews and smile for the cameras 24/7, either, or explain every song and album. A good example is Pitchfork only decided Ryan Adams cover of Taylor Swift's 1989 was worth talking about, and called it genius, while it never even bothered to review Taylor's album and regularly dragged/drags her.

Entertainment media can be harsh on women, especially WOC, and I think Bey got big enough that she just decided f*ck 'em. TBH I wouldn't be surprised if Gaga only did traditional press for her acting, and stopped doing a lot of interviews for her music outside of maybe a few talk shows. Ariana, Lorde, etc. are all handling their releases that way, now.
