Wondered what on earth I'd be of use of in such a topic when you mentioned me! I'm like, "He knows I'm a girl!" :ladyhaha:

I think some men suit beards and some don't. Same as some men look good with lots of hair and others don't. But personally, I prefer clean-shaven or minimal stubble. That way, there's no feeling of scratching when you kiss and you can actually find their lips! It's just what I think but I personally find that beards on young men make them look much older than they actually are. All my life, I've been used to beards being purely the preserve of old men, so to see young men aged 40 and younger doing it is so strange to me. It's the same way I don't understand why a woman would get her hair cut super short so that it took away her femininity. Whenever a man says that a beard is the symbol of masculinity, I'm like, the standard for men for decades was to be clean shaven and that's when men were in traditional gender roles and being manly was the default! I don't get why anyone would want hair on their face, which you have to wash all the time, you overheat in summer and bits of food can get caught in it. And doesn't it not feel itchy? Hope you don't find my opinion too harsh, but you did ask!

But it hardly matters what I think because you're married, so clearly, your wife is a fan and as long as she's loves it, then no one else matters!

That's funny cuz where I live it's mostly men under 40 that use beards cuz it's in style. Older men still shave cuz it was normal to shave decades ago

So to me I don't associate it with old age

I personally find beards very attractive (if they are the properly groomed ones).

The only thing with me tho is I can't grow it more than 5 or 6 days tops tho... The density on my beard isn't enough to pull off the fuller look. U start to see a lot of individual hairs and it doesn't look good so I keep mine shorter

My city has a lot of Indian and Arab guys and they tend to genetically have more hair and their beards looks really amazing

I find a lot of white guys like me only look good with short beards while most of the Indians and middle Eastern males I know can pull off like 7-10 days growth!

Anymore than that I don't like on anyone tho cuz I don't like it when it gets too long. But the fuller look takes over a week to grow and I can't pull that off for example cuz my hair density isn't high enough for it :/

I think on GGD most gay guys probably are more clean with their beards than the typical straight guy :awkney:

Im not fully straight and I didn't used to shampoo my beard before learning about this tbh. Its just not something that occured to me

I do it now tho

I did always wash my face tho cuz in acne prone if I don't even tho in already turning 26 :madge:

I find it crazy guys don't wash their beard. You wash all other areas on your body that has hair so your beard is no different, no? I only have a short beard but that gets washed twice a day.

Everyone should be washing their face at night anyway. :wtfga:

I kind of prefer messy beards / long ish beards rather than razor-cut super trimmed ones.

I'd never understand the appeal of these:

They look like bad lacefronts,

I love short goatte beards and mustaches though

Im the opposite I don't like messy beards at all but I love the razor cut ones!!!

Messy I can tolerate but only if it's like 2-3 days growth like big stubble

When it's a full out beard I think the messy ones just make u look dirty and like u don't care. Trimmed ones tho are super attractive in my opinion

SKANK

A headline from the Independent:

Beards may be more hygienic and bacteria-resistant than shaven skin, study finds

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/beards-good-for-health-more-hygienic-bacteria-resistant-than-shaven-skin-study-finds-a6823461.html

Every couple of months a new "study" is circulated on blogs and in the press about beards, because beards are in fashion, so stories about them drive clicks.

Unhygienic people are going to have unhygienic beards. Hygienic people are going to have hygienic beards. That is really all there is to it.

It's so funny. I remember being a teen and all the teachers would be like "Oh, when you are in your 20's your acne will go away''

Yet, here I am, almost 24 with zits still coming and going.

Well my acne cleared up big time after I was 16/17 compared to what it was when I was a younger

But yeah I still get some residual scene and im almost 26

On my face I get almost no pimples now mostly just blackheads. On my back and shoulders I still get a few pimples tho

It's been known for some time that men's Beards contain quite a bit of bacteria due to holding oils, sweat and sheded skin

However a new study shows that the amount ecceds even the bacteria of dogs

---------------

I myself have a small trimmed beard but ever since learning about the bacteria months ago I started washing my beard in the shower daily just like I would my hair :awkney:

You haven't been washing your beard when you were showering? How? Lol

Ud be surprised. Some of my friends have called me the smartest idiot on the planet lol

I have brain farts all the time where it's like my brain shuts off and completely fails to use common sense :rip:

At work for instance I solve complicated problems in my department no one else is smart enough to fix and I do all the complicated math but im also the one that screws up the most with silly mistakes u make by just not paying attention or using basic common sense...

Im literally the smartest and I make the most dumb mistakes too :ladyhaha:

Defmix100

I usually have a shower and a bath everyday and get my beard like fully wet but I only actually use shampoo like once a week because it makes my beard look all fluffy like a balloon's rubbed on it once it's dry but reading this I should use shampoo more. I never had acne though

I have never liked beards anyway, this new information is just adding to my usual disliking.
