I don't think it's to do with race or white privilege because even white people judge other whites and put them in different categories, usually based on how rich they are. He looks like a stereotypical low life so I don't believe his white privilege would have worked in this regard.  

The judge is just crazy. I could possibly accept his logic if he gave a minimum of three years but not nothing at all.

You can’t really compare white privilege between two white people - that would be more focused on their class. I can guarantee if this guy was not white - he’d probably be in jail

That's not quite what I meant. I meant the white privilege thing as separate to the racism not that they are the same thing because I do agree that he would most probably be in jail if he was black. But I also know that white people are very judgemental of other white people and I can imagine a judge in court, judging a man like this and immediately seeing a lowlife good for nothing type of person. Because that's what people do, that's why they say first impressions count.

The way you worded your reply sounded defensive & gave me the impression that you were another one of those people who say “don’t bring race into it” about everything so I’m sorry if that’s not you & my assumption was wrong. All I’m saying is that when it comes to the judicial system race is always a factor because our justice system was built on keeping POC down. The laws were written for white people by white people so until we have justice reform it’ll always play a role.

What are you even talking about? Seriously? Lmao where did I say anything that says we can’t express our disgust towards this situation? What I DID say is that it’s WRONG to wish that “the judge & his family all be raped by the rapist in this case.” You can express your anger towards the situation like I have above (which you even LIKED) but when you start saying things like “the judge & his family should be raped by the rapist” that’s when people need to be told they’re in the wrong because it is wrong. Yes what the rapist did is wrong & he needs to be brought to justice & yes the judge is in the wrong & yes you can voice your opinion but we don’t wish rape upon people just because we’re upset, that kind of talk is destructive & harmful & leads to groupthink & mob mentality & a downward spiral that leads to everyone wishing the most horrible things on people & in some cases enacting those terrible things.
