Reginald 13,841
You can bet 100% that if it was as easy as that to turn your finances around, we would be nickled and dimed straight back into poverty because that's how the system is set up : to keep the rich in control and to make the poor believe that freedom is attainable if they just constantly keep working for the rich until they die. It's so frustrating to feel locked into a miserable life because of money. I literally feel sadness, self-guilt, and depression whenever I spend more than a few dollars per day on things that aren't bills or absolutely necessary. Every happy purchase turns into a sad one because it keeps me $5, $10, etc dollars away from finally being able to get a used POS car to drive bc it's all that I can afford until it breaks down. And even being that strict with finances, I, and countless others, am getting absolutely nowhere financially. I work 40 hours per week for the biggest insurance company in the country and haven't even been able to even take a real vacation in several years I'm glad more people are waking up to the fact that the vast majority of people who are getting ahead are the ones who were already ahead in the beginning. Lower your expenditure on useless things. She took the tweet out of context. Nah, she got it and would agree, but it's a bit the pot calling the kettle black for them to write that given what she points out. They can both be right in this situation. Also, some of those things may not be useless. A cab? I can think of 10 times in the past year where I had to call an ride share because the public train in my city was so severely delayed and/or shut down due to track work, track fire, etc. Devoid of context, yes, you should lower unnecessary expenses, but the reality is that for plenty of people what might seem like a "useless thing" is not quite that due to factors outside of your control. For instance, I have a work gala coming up (such is the life of nonprofits), but I can't go because I don't have the money to rent or get the nice clothes required for this event. I'm not bemoaning it, and thank goodness it's volunteer work and not part of my job because otherwise my lack of funds due to the fact that I was recently out of a sufficiently-paying job for more than a month would have impeded me from doing my current job. So to someone else, my "needing clothes" seems like a frivolous expense. This is why I say they can both be right because, in this case, they can be. I work my ass off the whole week, If I wanna take a coffee or have dinner out I should be able to do it and save money. Problem is when we all become comfortable with mediocre payments and just give up on fighting for basic things. I am not asking to buy a mansion, I am asking to have a life after being working. And guess who gets benefits from that way of thinking? Exactly, people who DO buy mansions.
Kimblue 7,334
Stop whining about not being successful. It’s up to YOU to fix it if you aren’t satisfied with your standard of living. Nobody is going to do it for you.

You do all you want with ur money it's your hard work that allowed you to have this money, it's your liberty to spend it however you want! However, I think it's not a negative thing to give advice about money management take it or leave it but why be offended? At the end of the day you do whatever you want. But in my opinion the best advice to follow is to never spend more than you earn, I earn 1k not more, and Id never dare buying coffee at starbucks every morning, and going to restaurants everyday for a 10$ salad. "Problem is when we all become comfortable with mediocre payments and just give up on fighting for basic things." I dont understand what u mean by that? Then tell me how to save money by unplugging the phone charger, or installing a water cleaner on the kitchen, or sharing car and costs/using public transport to go to work. Don't tell me to not have a coffee or eat outside. It is ridiculous and an insult. The problem is that when they keep rising taxes, prices, interests without increasing salaries and we have to stop drinking coffee or going to have dinner with friends instead of asking for a better salary that lives up to the increase of everything else. And when we are just like: gurl that's your salary stay home and that's it... the workers and clients in that bank can't go to drink coffee or have dinner while the owner probably has money to take a private plane and go to have coffee in Colombia.Something that you won't get in your entire life even if you stop drinking coffee in and outside. I agree salaries should follow inflation. However thats the reality of our world. If u keep being an employer working for a company thats what uc an expect and u have to do everything in ur power to save more money and with that money invest it after a couple years so it makes more money so u can get out of the rat race and getting ****ed by everyone (unless u like the rat race). Otherwise start ur own business. Thats how Id rather manage my money but nobody forces u to do anything so theres no need to be angry at people for giving advice imo. But I read somewhere that not buying coffee can save u around 100 bucks a year. Im not saying never spend anything or enjoy urself ever, but there are a lot of things u can improve money wise, it's only for ur benefit
