More possible Met Gala looks for Gaga

I'm afraid so many of y'all are going to be upset with Gaga's look if she doesn't look "pretty" with her outfit

Camp is totally the opposite of that and most of the posts I've seen on this forum (not necessarily yours OP) suggest the typical "pretty/glamorous" looks. I have a feeling she's going to get really out there with the fashion because Gaga is camp and this is totally on brand for her.

I'm excited nonetheless though!

For the billionth time, they are camp. I chose that look in particular because it's reminiscent of 90s drag ballroom culture. It screams homosexual and theatrical and drag to me.

My chosen looks are every single one of these. 

The black and white Dior one (I think it is, I'm no expert- not to say I don't understand the theme though) is giving me Cruella De Vil campy over the top realness. 

Plus, like I said before, you'll get those like Selena who will just turn up in a pink dress with boots that don't match for "distasteful edge" or something.

And there'll be people wearing the huge neon tulle dresses, yeah that's camp but predictable and not thread worthy in my opinion because it seems too predictable to make a thread about. The looks I chose IMO are the sort of over the top, theatrical Gaga looks that no one else would be wearing because they'd be too busy with neon. 

Take your fashion guru "I'm better than everyone else" fury out somewhere else, like gimme a break, fashion is subjective and this theme is subjective and broad.

Most people seem to be tearing my ideas down. I think she'll go with something classic and theatrical. That sort of camp. But who knows, I'm sure she'll serve either way

I think they were going for a Chinese Opera look with the eyebrows (given the theme was China: Through The Looking Glass), and I think it looked great. I loved the 2015 look so much.

She is so not wearing Dior! My bet is on Gucci or versace this time! I think it's gonna be extravagant but still classy cuz that's her zone lately! I hope it's a Victor and rolf piece but who am I kidding

As much as i love Galliano, Gaga doesn’t need the controversy of wearing his designs. Not at this point. 

I’m hoping for something campier and possibly vintage, but she’ll probably end up wearing custom Gucci.

In my opinion, these two dresses could be considered  the most"campy" out of those you posted because of the way they reference an exaggeration of an instantly recognizable character:

This one, who is like an over-the-top A-line 40s housewife 

and this one, who is the Queen to end all Queens

 

It's so hard to define though If a word needs an entire ****ing essay to define it, maybe it's not such an agreed-upon concept after all. I think of "camp" as just the zeitgeist of the gay fashion of the moment. Its definition seems to be always-changing and nebulous at best

I like how simple the description in English is. Please compare that to the German one (translation beneath  ):

I think a lot of people have a very “soft” way of thinking camp.

I want her to purposely look “bad”. It’ll be much more powerful statement than her wearing a cute McQueen dress and disappearing in the crowd just like she did in 2015 and 2016.
