I went to Catholic school so I had to learn about the Bible growing up.

Anywho people like him quote the Bible, but pick and choose what they want to be a sin or what will fit into their narrative. Things that are "sins" include mixing fabrics, eating shellfish, BUT guess what... he probably does ALL of that.

He has sh** on Islam in the past, saying it's an evil religion, and that's technically wrong of him because Jesus said we should respect one another.  But he'll ignore that because it's a convenient for him.

Lastly Jesus said that he was the "new world and the only way" which if you technically want to delve into it, it means that anything prior to the New Testament is no longer applicable. If that's the case, the controversial line that "being gay is a sin..." is irrelevant now, but let's totally ignore that

I don't see why Christians should hate gay marriage.

Gays are getting married through the government anyway and not through the Church.  Marriage through the government is a contract between two people so they can share LEGAL rights in their union.

They are not asking for the Church's consent.  There is a reason why there is a separation between Church and State. 

Straight Christian couples get married twice.  One through the government and second through the Church.  LGBTQ+ couples only want the government marriage.  Why should these Christians bother?  They aren't trying to go to their churches and make their priest/pastors bless their marriage.

I'm happy you brought this up!  The Old Testament is basically the source of all the haters' quotes but within the same book,  there exists the New Testament which basically overrules the OLD one and just says that we should all LOVE one another. 

New Testament examples:

Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." Ephesians 4:2: “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." 1 Peter 4:8: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." John 15:12: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."

This picking and choosing of what's "right" and what's "wrong" is so ****ing frustrating. Like, it's like people have forgotten what basic common sense and logic is. 

Look, I am Catholic, and while I'm not super religious, I would still consider myself to be Catholic. That being said, there are things that I just don't agree with in the Bible, and at the very least, there are interpretations of the Bible that I don't agree with.

This "God's word doesn't change" horseshit is just that. Yes, while technically it's true that "God's word doesn't change" we also have to be intelligent enough to learn that those rules and regulations we made at a specific point in history. If you're going to say that, then men can't shave, people can't wear clothing of different materials, people can't get tattoos, you can't eat shellfish, etc., etc., etc. There are so many things that people just brush aside, but no one pays attention to those things!!

I don't think Franklin Graham is talking about Odin or Zeus. Zeus had a sexual relationship with Ganymede, a young male human. Odin practiced "female magic," so the other Norse Gods basically femme shamed him and thought he was a power bottom.

He is talking about Jesus - who was partying with a naked boy when the Roman soldiers arrested him in the garden of Gethsemane.

My husband has met Franklin Graham a few times for interviews.  He also attended Billy Graham's (his father) funeral. Franklin Graham is a nice person, and I do believe he has done great work with his mission organization (Samaritan's Purse). Samaritan's purse is the group that does Operation Christmas Child with filling the shoe boxes, if you've ever heard of that.

That being said, I do not agree with him (as a Christian). If you are truly a Christian, you believe that Jesus loved everyone, and that we are not the final judge of salvation.  We also believe that all sin is equal. So by judging someone (you know, those of you without sin, cast the first stone, etc) you are sinning, so you are no more closer to salvation by judging someone than someone who is homosexual. But I also don't believe you get to heaven by working to get there. (I'm not preaching, just sharing how I believe.)

That being said, Jesus came to Earth to save all people, not just the ones that (SOME) Christians want to accept.
