Only a extreme minority supported 3rd parties. If it was mandatory for people to vote like in Australia, you will get almost the same results. And when I say 50%, I dont mean exactly but yes half the country supports him. If half the country supports him why did Hillarly won the popular Vote with 3 million votes and there were people who didn't even vote at all LMAO A loud minority supports him Banned 04/19/2020 - 04/19/2020
Fresco 1,688
I don't like the idea of imprisoned people voting. It might not have much affect on presidential elections, but local elections, city, county, or even state could become scewed. Once they are out and finished parole, then ok. I also thought it weird that someone, I think it was Bernie, was talking about letting everyone out of prison for a pot crime, and removing all those convictions from their records. Bernie makes all these promises, but what can he actually do? He is a Senator NOW. Where is his bill that removes pot from schedule 1, making it officially legal? Where is his bill that makes all of these prison reforms? If he introduced these bills today, they wouldn't pass. But he should introduce them anyway. He can't deliver on his promises because as a Senator, he is registered as an independent socialist with no-one else in his party.
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
People in prison are still citizens with rights, and laws are still made that affect their daily life - in prison and out of prison. So, of course they should be able to vote, because being found guilty of a crime =/= taking away their right to fair treatment and justice. People still see jail/prison as Punishment, and like Economy said earlier, our Prison system will never get better until we recognize that Rehabilitation is the ultimate goal. We can only treat the symptoms for so long. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

He has many bills like the ones you’re asking about but the senate has been in GOP control for years and the country has only come around to his views in the last few years. He has been an effective legislator however. During his tenure in the house, he was known as the amendment king. Kind of amazing considering his entire in the house was spent under a GOP majority. About his part identification, he may be an independent but he’s in the democratic caucus and actually has a leadership role within the party. He’s overwhelmingly popular with democrats as well. Also, many presidents had few accomplishments in their legislative bodies before ascending and many competing senators have similar stories.

So are you saying that he has acted like a party leader and scheduled a meeting with the Senate majority leader, minority leader and the party whips, and discussed his bill with regard to marijuana legalization and prison sentence removal? And what was the result of this leadership meeting? He can't work across the aisle to get pot legalized or sentences eliminated. Why? What effort as the independent socialist party leader did he make to whip people into alignment with his bill? Because republicans won't pass it? I’ve linked some sources on my behalf, show me some sources that support what you say. Otherwise your claims are just pointless conjecture with no basis in facts. But I do agree with the facts you presented and I already know them. It is not new information that not everyone in America voted. Are you saying that the 44.2% that did not vote all support Hilary? im sure its split in half but some did not care enough to vote or it is not legal for them to vote yet. Because your country only gives you two choices, people are forced to choose between the two.

Former republican speaker Boehner is on the board of directors of a pot company. I’m not sure if he has done this for this specific bill but he has worked with leadership in other issues. He’s been at the premiere of multiple flagship democratic proposals and recently worked closely with LEADER Schumer on a bill to ban stock buybacks. Also, don’t pretend the gop would back a democratic proposal please. They’ve refused to take up any of the common sense legislation the house has passed because they’re partisan hacks. John was pretty much chased out of he party by the tea party for not sticking by GOP and tea party doctrine so don’t go there either. Sanders is as much a part of the caucus as anyone else. The bill would need at least one gop co-sponsor and would need to have enough support to pass before it would be allowed to the floor to vote. There used to be pork barrel politics, where people would agree to support bills as long as they got something they wanted in another bill, something for their home state usually. Oh well, there are so many candidates right now. We'll see who is still running in a few months.

Half of the votes are to Trump and the people who did not vote simply chose not to. Let me break it down: 244 million people were eligible to vote during the year 2016. 62 milllion people voted for Trump and 65 million people voted for Hillary. 62 million is not half of 244 million. So half of the US did not vote for him. 24 minutes ago, Faysalaaa said: But if you ask them who they support it will be split in half they just did not care enough to vote or its illegal for them His approval rating is 37% which is far from 50%. So again he does not have the support of half the country. What you are saying is against the facts that I have already laid out. If he does have support of half of America, I am asking you to provide proof and link me to an article. But you already said that you agree with these numbers so I am not understanding where your logic is.

But I know that and addressed this in my first comment to you so I dont know why you keep repeating it! I literally said that I did not mean the exact half. And I already addressed that approval rating and supporting someone are completely different. People dont approve of him but they do support him because he is the only choice they have. Many Obama supporters support him and voted for him twice yet his approval ratings were down. Im sorry but if you cant understand this, I dont know how to explain this to you.
