What’s up with this dark aesthetic for that song? It doesn’t fit AT ALL.

What’s your point? Alejandro’s MV goes amazingly with the song. It’s the vibe, instrumental, etc.. Madonna’s song sounds like chill summer day song and those visuals are not it.

Medellin has this sexy, stylish, and somewhat mature feel and tells the story of of an older woman and younger man dreaming of true love. From the clips, I'm assuming that's the vibe they are going with the video, and not necessarily the traditional Summery latin vibe that marks all Latin music videos.

I also think that the purpose of the video is not only to fit Medellin, but to be the start of Madame X's journey, as per the first album teaser, where she sets the concept of the album:

They are both mid-tempo pop songs with Latin influences, both were released as singles in early summer, both videos were directed by Stephen Klein, and both music videos seem to have little to do with the songs they are centered on.

In the intro to Alejandro Gaga adopts a fake Latin accent, she singing about Roberto, Fernando, and Alejandro, in "hot Mexico." She is having her La Isla Bonita moment. To pair a song like that with a snowy, pale, fascist military, theme is totally contradictory.

I love the Alejandro music video, we both know it's silly to say the visuals "go amazingly well" with the song. Part of what makes the video so great is how unexpected it is, and how contrary it is to the song.

Let’s pray is a promo single. Medellin sitting on #139 on The US iTunes is beyond tragic.

Why in the world did she pick that song?

And it was recorded in Feb 2019, so it should never exist tbh.

Sorry but I totally disagree with you. I already said what I think about Alejandro and it’s video. They go well together because Alejandro instrumentally is dark song (just like it’s video).. True that lyrics are not a good match but Madonna’s song is in no way connected to that video aesthetic. Not instrumentally, not vocally, not lyrically.

Because it will probably be like a mini movie, where every video tells a story of Madame X. I'm not saying it'll be a visual album, but I think videos will be connected and will follow the journey of Madame X.

OT: I'm so excited about the video, TBH the song took me a while to get into, but now I can't get it out of my head. I don't get why y'all hate the song/teasers/Madonna at all?

Like what you Sea?

I agree atm, I'll have to see the final video before I judge fully though.

I think Steven klein is a beyond incredible artist, but I'm not the biggest fan of his directing work for music videos/album covers etc.

When I look at his work with Gaga/Madonna/other artists etc I always get the feeling his own vision and visuals dominates rather than executing the "clients" vision through Steven klein shaped goggles.

Sounds cheesy but I get the impression he'll take a collaborator like Madonna and use her as clay to mold his art, rather than Madonna using him as a paintbrush to paint her  picture. (if that makes sense

Now that can works great for certain things were his aesthetic aligns with the project (especially things like the fame perfume ad, magazine looks etc), but in my opinion it's not the best option for music videos.

Either way it should still be stunning so still excited to watch.

ok she is teasing waaay too much.

I feel as if I have already seen the whole video...

That's what I like about Gaga's approach regarding video's: she never over hypes them with tooo many visuals and posts...

No but she calls her albums the album of the millenium :selena:
