I listened to the EP and... maybe it's just not my kind of music :trollga:

I would suggest other stuff but I'm just known as the disgusting boy group lover here even while loving twice and red velvet and chungha

the power of a large fanbase. Yet the GP won't be talking about them. Just goes to show how irrelevant YT views can be in the grand scheme of things.

This kpop phenomenon is so strange. They get massive views and attention, but I don’t know a single person who actually listens to kpop.

Except for maybe my 9 year old niece. I think my sister mentioned once that she’s into kpop. :laughga:

There’s more people in Asia than America and Europe combined. People here love Kpop.

Yeah, I was going to say KPop is huge in multiple countries in Asia and arguably parts of France, parts of Canada, and other areas even if it hasn't caught on in general in the United States.  I'm from the States and don't know many who are personally big KPop fans, but it is defn. a thing. Also, the KPop groups back it up with pure sales—it isn't just streaming or random, not very consequential records like how many viewed a MV in 24 hours.

Obviously, but Asian countries - for the most part - have their own streaming platforms. Youtube is almost exclusively for western audiences.

I’m talking about the phenomenon of Kpop being very present in American pop culture and YouTube now.

Anyway, I’m not here to argue it’s popularity. :laughga: It’s obviously popular. I merely commented that there’s a disconnect between internet and real life for me.
