It takes a tough one to call other people sad over the Internet. Also a tough one to have 30 o’s in their lmaos.

I’m not a fan of her music or aesthetic, but I’m interested in watching how her celebrity unfolds. She does seem a little too deliberate in her attempt to make spooky art.

Her schtick may very well be the future of Top 40 pop music for the next few years, though Billie herself may not be. Her age could contribute to her downfall or her rise. People tend to get sick of teen stars quickly, and Billie may experience a heavy Gagaesque backlash just because of her age. That or she may stick around for awhile until her career simply expires (she is 17 after all) like with Xtina. The classic Gaga years were quite short (6 years), and in the end Gaga was already 22 when she debuted. That’s pretty old for a debuting artist by 2010’s standards although that was normal at the time. Billie will almost certainly not handle fame as well as Gaga did then (she doesn’t seem like a superstar either).

However, Lorde, a girl who she is obviously very much inspired by, has vocally stated her support for her and may even consider herself a fan (this was in 2017). She obviously believes in Billie and is excited to watch her grow as a person and as an artist. Who knows? Maybe they’ll even collaborate.

In the end, it’s not up to us—it’s up to the teens. We already had our chance to shine in the sun as the prime demographic for Top 40 Pop music. We gave Gaga a career. She wouldn’t be where she is without us. Now it’s Billie’s turn.

But isn’t Billie of the same vein as Lorde and Lana?  They’re all cut from the same cloth IMO. What Billie is doing isn’t truly new even in the pop culture world—our generation did that first.

If you really think there's such a thing as failing or winning arguments on Gagadaily, please find somewhere else that suits your passion or your age group. It seems that you don't want to engage in the lingo and overall nonchalance of this pop forum. You're not supposed to get upset by my using however much letters I want in my contractions.

The bottom line is that it's not that serious. Why would you be that affected by something as petty as an argument over a 17-year-old singer? It's not even like you had anything actually substantial to say. I never attacked anybody's opinion - if I were to do that I'd spend all day on this forum. The one thing I found 'sad' was someone claiming Billie can't sing; their whole contribution to this thread was 'queen of whispering' or something like that, which is absolutely ridiculous and as I already said just a hive/bandwagon phrase thrown around by people who clearly haven't taken the time to check out Billie's music. Somehow that offended you and you felt the need to tell me I have no right to find this pathetic, after which you resorted to repeated changes of topic and personal attacks to which I thought "okay, I guess he wants to troll/fake catfight, two can play this game"; I never knew you would take it so personally.
