Hi guys. Me and my partner have decided to finally take a trip to New York (He had an incredibly bad motorbike accident 4 years ago and we have received some compensation).

I would love to visit Joanne’s whilst we are there and was wondering if anybody had any information they could give.

Is there a chance we may get to meet/ see Joe or Cynthia?

(Don’t worry, I’m planning to go in as me. Not as a Monster)

Maybe there’s a dish you can recommend....

Hi! I went 2 years ago when I visited N.Y.! I definitely recommend making a reservation, it's a very small restaurant! I didn't see Joe or Cynthia while I was there but they are both very busy so I didn't expect to! We got pizza and it was really good! Also we tried their famous meatballs and they were really good as well. Over all the food was reasonably priced, and yummy, and the restaurant has a very warm and cozy atmosphere. It feels like going over to your italian grandma's house for dinner. We had a great time.

I think that would be the best option! Or you can do it on their website.

Hi,

I went on vacation to NY a few years ago (2013), as a fan a little stop at the Joanne Trattoria was inevitable!
I had the chance to see Joe behind the bar with a few people as soon as I entered the restaurant, my heart jumped lol I did not think to see him! Then during the meal, I saw Cynthia join people at the table in front of me! Maybe of the family?

In any case this restaurant is great, both for decoration and food, and this little taste of Gaga in the air lol

Sorry for my approximative english, I'm french :)

The meatballs are incredible!! I wouldn't say you'll see Joe or Cynthia, but your waitress might be a Little Monster! Mine had the survivor tattoo from the Oscars and I was so excited.  I even sat in the same booth as Gaga did when she went with Joan Rivers and Barbara Walters!

The food is so good there
Also, the rat comments are unnecessary. The restaurant was really clean, even the toilets were super clean and cozy.

Cynthia are shy person, most times she will refuse to take a picture. While Papa Joe is easier to approach when he is in the mood. Just read the situation before you walk up to them for a picture.

However they are generally welcoming, they are fully aware lots of Gaga fans are visiting first and foremost for random opportunity meeting Gaga in there, before the food itself. But do compliment the foods, they, especially Papa Joe will appreciate it.

All those rats comments are by people who can't afford eating in restaurants, I'm sure. It is best to ignore it. :fan:

Imaginary Light

The first time I went there Joe, Cynthia, Gaga and Taylor Kinney were all there. That was when she was doing the Roseland shows though - the second time I went I saw none of them.

The pasta and meatballs were really good, as was the brussel sprout salad. I had some kind of cake for dessert once too that was amazing but I forgot what it was.

Never saw any rats there either.
