Lol yes I know, PrEP DOES protect you but it literally says in the research for the pill. In the pills information, by the scientists who made the pill, it’s legit in the research & it says the pill is only 92%-99% effective. You can still contact it while on the pill especially if you only take it when you plan on having sex since that decreases the amount in your system. The only difference apparently is that the doctors here tell you all the info & the doctors there don’t which is really irresponsible. I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying, I’m not saying it doesn’t protect you. What I’m saying is that it’s not 100% effective & you shouldn’t be using it as the answer to safe sex & then be surprised if you somehow get HIV since it’s only, once again, 92%-99% effective at protecting you from HIV. Condoms fail 0.4 to 6.5 % of the time so it’s pretty much the same. According to that logic everyone should take Prep as well when they protect with condom. Condoms aren’t 100% effective & neither is PrEP, but if you use them together it adds a layer of protection. Nobody’s telling you you HAVE to use a condom like wtf? I have the actual form that came with the medication where it says that the pill is only 92-99% effective? I’m telling YOU to google it because YOU don’t have the correct info. With the amount of gay sex going on in the world it was bound to happen. Particularly if gay men keep treating PrEp as an excuse to take more risks, rather than an extra layer of protection. A few weeks ago on the HIV patient cured thread, I was told off for the same thing, people believe Prep is 100% effective.
