Taylor is more global than Ariana. :selena: What are you smoking?

Ariana has double the songs on the German single charts than Taylor. Sorry but Swizzle was never really global. Her first major success overseas happened with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and it seems like she's falling off again after LWYMMD :selena:

Ariana, Taylor and Drake are all far from global if compared to Gaga, Rihanna or even Katy Perry.

But I would argue that Taylor is the least global of the three. Let's see if Katy can bounce back but for now she's more global than the first three and thanks to Shallow Gaga is global again. Rihanna is a worldwide phenomenon and Anti was probably her first album cycle where she was way more local than global but this can change every second when she releases another album.

Yeah, they’re very popular but even if they’re at their peaks, they don’t seem to resonate like Gaga, Rihanna and Katy were/are during their highs. They’re known basing on their names, but nothing else, or at least this is my perception in my country.

Sure Joanne :selena:

I lived in India back then and all the kids bopped to Love Story and You Belong With Me. For comparison, no one even knew of Bad Romance. :madge:

India is the OG Azerbaijan :ally:

I'm sorry to say that but who cares about India (in the music industry at least)

These are the most important markets for music:

Canada, a country with 37 mil people, is more important for the music industry than the second most populated country on the planet :selena:

I've just read on ATRL that Shallow entered in top 50 of the most-streamed songs by female artists

New peaks for Million Reasons (#137) and ARUTW (#282)

What an hard work for that user to track all those songs :applause:

YouTube stats beg to disagree :ally: look em up sweaty. Only India could stand up to the nazi troll on YouTube who shall not be named.

Much of India didn't have internet access and still doesn't. As the number is increasing and the market is becoming more globalized, the entire "music industry" is diversifying. The music industry isn't just composed of some US artists. Of course US artists are much more relevant in Canada which is close, has English as its first language, etc.

LOL. I think it's because Indians prefer soft ballady music and love songs with acoustic vocals. Every bollywood album has a few dance songs and a few ballads. While internationally people see Bollywood music as more dancey, the music that's actually popular is really the ballads.

That's why no one knows Bad Romance but many know Million Reasons and now Shallow (according to my sister; can't confirm I don't live in India anymore :selena:).

Also... :selena: :selena: :selena: Love Story by TS is actually very relatable for Indians.  India still has arranged marriages and romance (even for the straights) is frowned upon. Parents want even their adult kids to focus on studying and college instead of relationships. Obviously people fall in love anyway. So the lyrics make sense. "Daddy said stay away from Juliet." and "we keep quiet cause we're dead if they knew" :selena: I totally remember being so emotional thinking about a forbidden romance I didn't even have back then in middle school.

And they don't like new Taylor obviously because she's not about that pure love anymore :selena:

Taylor Swift can do stadium tour in a lot of  countries in Asia, she's definitely more global than Ariana

Katy, Rihanna and Gaga were more global than her before 1989 happened but even that she still did better than the Ariana before Thank you, next
