Well I have to disagree with this. I think its all about having the right song and sound. I dont think her success is thanks to her "fans". She just needs a great song that radio will play, and Im sure she will get it soon.

Lets wish her good luck :ally:

That's also true. Because Katy is more commercial she can have an easy radio hit but Gaga will always have us to fall back on.

I don't think that You can put Gaga's and Katy's career path near each other. Gaga is a force of personality, unlike Katy who was always more commercial and synthetic. Katy can't come back that easily from two failed albums because her fandom falls apart more and more. Gaga has us but Katy loses fans every day. She really needs that second album with at least one hit bigger that CCTR. Her momentum runs out and her manager knows that very well, which is why that Zedd collab exists in the first place. Let's hope, now that pop music seems to resurge, that Katy releases something like Firework again to save her crumbling career.

She is far from over but we should not overestimate her. She should move more in a Maroon 5 direction if she wants more hits or she can retire mostly and put out a project every 4-5 years for her fans. She has to decide now what's more important for her: music or the bling :hor:

Sorry to burst bubbles but didn’t Gaga loses fans too especially during ARTPOP era and when she her final single G.U.Y ?I became a fan of hers 100% in 2015 so I didn’t experience the G.U.Y mess I don’t think I could handle it too with the constant of calling her a flop and her album is infamously album called ArtFlop.  I also heard some of them joined other fandoms such as Arianators and Swifties. This was back in 2014.

Yes exactly what I think! Its an underperformance compared to her previous albums but still did pretty good. It can look like a flop if you compare it to ASIB though :selena:

A Star Is Born looks like Thriller in comparation to most albums today too

how come it's not lead worthy when it's one of Gaga's best song period??

I think we are comparing to different pair of shoes here. While stating what is the best song of someone is debatable and subjective (where I won't argue since everyone has a different taste) I think a lead single is here to create interest not just for the fans but also the GP and it has to reach as many ppl as possible. Every Gaga lead single somehow clicked with the GP more and less where PI has failed to do so, hence why it is her worst performing lead single.

For example in my opinion Gaga's best songs are Heavy Metal Lover and ARTPOP but I know these songs wouldn't have worked as a lead single or as a single in general. Do you understand what I mean?

I don't get why you are comparing Katy Perry to Lady Gaga. Their situations are not really compareable, they've had very different motives in starting their careers, Gaga had something to say and the drive to write, make music and change the world while Katy is basically the poster child of capitalism. Gaga wanted her opinions to be heard, Katy wanted to make money and be a celebrity. And that's why Gaga has bounced back. While the commercial success is beautiful, it's not the priority. She still has things to say. Until Katy has a massive public transformation and people actually see her as an earnest, hard-working & talented woman, she's not coming back.

She lost fans in C2C and Joanne, not on ARTPOP. Most fans loved it and its singles

Yes I get what you say. Im just comparing how everyone hates on her with just 1 "flop" album. Reminds me of how Gaga was "over" with ARTPOP

Shallow has the potential of becoming Gaga 3rd biggest hit in the US. :vegas:

Every artist looses some fans during lower commercial success including Gaga

But Katy has less hardcore fans than Gaga and I think she lost more this last era than Gaga lost during ARTPOP

The issue with being too reliant on the GP and casual fans is that although u may get more general popularity... Ur supporters are also less reliable and once u flop it's harder to have a come back

I'm not saying Katy can't have a comeback tho if she plays her cards right
