Okay...well, isn't this the exact opposite of everything she's said before? I don't think we should dwell on the negative but if you can't take criticism how can one grow?

this is only getting her dragged more and more, I can't. i mean on one hand I love how honest she is and all but on the other she really needs to be conscientious about certain things she's saying that will bring even more negativity her way. she obviously doesn't enjoy the negativity and neither do we so ugh. i mean she's free to have her opinion and all but she needs to keep some stuff to herself because she's never going to change other people's opinion in regards to critics nor will she change critics from expressing their opinions. and again she'll make herself look like a hypocrite because she doesn't shun away positive reviews/attention but then says this in regards to negative reviews.

I mean I understand, but why dwell on something you can't change? She's not going to make critics go away. Now it's worse, she's fueling their fire.

I don't understand people making this about being "true fans" or making it about not "understanding gaga".

I understand where she is coming from, but she needs to stop making it seem like criticizing is evil and purely negative....which it isn't.

True criticism is designed for improvement. I think what's happening here is she is simply take all critiques of her work to heart. It saddens me that she must not have enough confidence and belief in herself to  be able to successfully reject any negativity towards her work, and then make to attempts to try and validate her work...as if she's battling against critics.

There is difference between displaying negativity, and criticizing someone.

There is also a difference between critics and music reviewers. Now, I stand with her when she says she doesn't understand critics(when referring to music critics).

Because music critics don't actually exist. There literally is no way to critique art UNLESS you are the creator of the work. If you do not know the specific/intangible/emotional/spiritual/mental/physical foundation + intention  of the art ,you can not truly give any advice to improve it. Therefor in theory music critics/art critics are bull**** titles.

Now a majority of music/art critics are simply either professional music reviewers(just people who get paid to express their opinions on artworks) or art a--lysts(usually people trying to find the meanings of a work, or explain the techniques involved during expression of a work)

And I would think Gaga knows the difference.

It's like yo Gags. it's your work, it's your art, it's your soul, you do not explain **** to anyone. If you're happy with your work, don't give a **** what anyone else thinks. Especially fans. Ignore the negativity. Most artists don't really explain their art to people. It's actually one of the beautiful aspects of art. It's the mystery and freedom of interpretation.

Homegirl needs  to seriously stay off the internet. I can understand needing to get stuff off her chests, and we definitely don't know how horrible she's feeling, but all this is going to do is garner whiplash. And the public is probably seeing this as a sign of weakness, which probably isn't going to make her any happier, seeing she seems to have trouble blocking out negativity.

I get where she's coming from but the argument she's using is pretty silly. Of course people can judge music if they aren't a musician. The real point to make on critics is: if all art is subjective by its very nature, what is the point of critics?
