SharkmanthaC 114,697
The 2000s CNN documentary is on Netflix. The episode 'I want my mp3' features Gaga at 34:44. The series is interesting overall. Here are the highlights: "If we started the decade with boy bands, we ended the decade with solo women ruling the decade." "Suddenly it wasn't enough to wear a pretty gown on the red carpet, you had to make art." Included is her interview about being judged on being a female rockstar. "Lady Gaga is a female empowerment role model." It basically implies that Gaga helped pave the way for female artists. I found her full segment on Twitter: Spoiler I'm not sure how old these episodes are. I only found @PunkTheFunk's thread about her music being included in the promo, so I apologize if this has been mentioned before. she/her/hers

I'd say Rihanna tbh. And I don't really like that but I do think that's the way it is.

Rihanna was on top of the charts but she never changed anything, she had hit every era with pandering to trends. I like Rihanna rly, but she is only hot 100 monster thanks to her streaming power. gaga is kinda jack of all trade, songwriting, career control, touring stats, album stats, singles stats, impact ''stats'', acting, brend. My opnion is that Gaga rly paved the way, but Rihanna was more sucessfull in singles depratment and didn't rly make a mark on industry, she just flowed with trends and industry, and she did that almost perfectly.
