i responded to his comment which was pure irony if you couldn't see. didy get off your high horse ffs, drink some alcohol or smthin.

It's not irony though.

@Satans Ex Wife was talking about "uninteresting" projects that involve "gorgeous skinny blonds" :air: How does that have anything to do with the BTW video of all music video's?

You've been making similar comments about how Gaga is doing the same kind of thing that Ava is doing right now on the last few pages so I don't think I'm on a high horse, I just don't like what you're implying. If anything, comparing the two proves that Gaga made much more of an effort to actually deliver a standout product that could last the ages and make a mark. Can we really say the same of this Ava song/mv? :madge:

so i'll ask again. why exactly are we comparing them in the first place? most of you were mad that she didn't acknowledge gaga, now that she's literally saying she's a legend, y'all don't like her releasing an empowering song because iT DOEnstn CoMeeE fRoM aGenUinE plaCeE and ItsTS HerR debUT iT toOk gaGa a wHILe.

You mentioned Gaga in your post so that is why I continued your comparison.

I literally don’t care about the girl. I just listened to her songs because y’all talk about her but had no interest afterwards. So I am not one of those people that you mention and I don’t see her being like Gaga at all. I listen to Gaga’s music because it resonates with me. Ava’s does not. Everyone has different taste.

Stop trying it though :chica: This song is nothing like BTW. Don't put down Gaga's work to make Ava's look better. How can you compare the BTW video to this one :air: BTW was actually a balls to the wall avant-garde celebration of everything that was not cool to do for pop music. It was a huge risk, sound-wise and visually. The comparison with this Ava track is way off imo :oprah:

:applause:

I never want to hear another gorgeous skinny blonde telling us "I'm just liek u guise i understand!!!!!1"

the fact that you tell me to not compare them, & bash ava solely on gaga comparisons & literally think that she's trying to 'replace' gaga's place in pop music is just...

and i don't like what you're implying. if anything, comparing the two is idiotic, one is 2 songs into her career, the other one was on her 3rd album when she did it. if anything, this makes gaga seem more calculated because she tested the waters & knew exactly who to attract later on & how to make money with BTW. is that what you're implying?

It’s so overtly contrived and soulless that I almost feel silly even pointing it out. Slap “Nickelodeon” in the lower corner and I would believe it’s made for 10 year olds. I can’t imagine any adult enjoying this unless under the influence of alcohol.

no no no, the fact that a person you'll most likely never meet insulted you through her song which clearly isn't your kind of taste is... amazing :ally:

Never said Ava was insulting, but what she’s doing with this video is.

She’s making a parody of a daily struggle many teenagers have for years. There’s no depth in this song or video, everything she sings and portrait on this is as stereotypical as it could, which makes me think she’s never really had to face the consequences of being an actual “misfit”.

omg I love this. the production is amazing and the beat sounds super French pop for some reason. I don't like a lot of the lyrics and phrase structures though

my god, she's not making a parody, she doesn't owe you or any teenagers anything :saladga:

so you need to be black in order to understand what they had to go through in history?

You know what, I kinda missed late 00's electropop

Maybe that's one reason I'm quite into Ava.

I'm surprised they didn't promote let it be me :messga:

are you suggesting it’s okay for a white person to make money by singing about how hard it’s to be black? :rip:

I’m off of this convo, you clearly don’t see what’s problematic with this.

It just doesn’t speak to me at all. It’s not bad or anything but for me it feels like someone forced her to sing about being yourself and she didn’t really cared but needed to do it anyway.
