"But, you know, I was a shell of my former self at one point. I was not myself. To be fair, I was about 19…I went to Catholic school, and then all this crazy stuff happened, and I was going, 'Oh, is this just the way adults are?'"

Let's keep things in context.

This is Gaga at 19 (not Gaga at 31) wondering if abusive relations are common? It has nothing to do with trauma. I could see my friend in an abusive relationship at the age of 17 and I just wonder if that is common. She didn't say that she thought rape was normal in her adult years, she knew back then that it was bad (obviously!) but she simply wondered if it's more common than she thought, in a disappointed way. The other poster claimed that Gaga was thinking that rape was normal all the years preceding her opening up about it. That was the claim I was disputing.

And back to the point, I'm not buying the claim that someone at the age of 31 didn't know what pedophilia and child abuse is, especially for someone who's had a pretty successful career. He certainly wasn't living under a rock.

The debates are extremely heated and emotionally invested, so Imma try to response to your question only:

Do you guys think that Gaga will speak out about/support MJ's accusers?

I don't think she will. Gaga's been very vocal about admiring MJ's music and performance abilities, but I think she's one of those people who understand that talent and good personality aren't supposed to coexist and to go hand-in-hand. It seems to me she understands that someone can be talented and still be a terrible person and commit many atrocities outside the professional side of this person's life.  For instance, she never pulled back her GAGA X RICHARDSON book, and she never pulled back her songs with Rob Fusari, because they are all good.

She delisted her collaboration with R Kelly, so much is true, but I think it's been done because Do What U Want is not such an authentic collaboration, after all: we all know that gaga and djws had written the whole song themselves and only offered the second verse appearance to R Kelly, so he in no way contributed to the creation of the product - by the time he was approached by her team, the song had been written already, and could be released as a solo version without suffering much loss because of R Kelly's absence :huntyga:

That being said, she may speak on the issue if the topic gets even more media coverage or if she is directly asked about it at some press conference or something.
