True but one of the biggest reasons for it is because the Holocaust has become an almost cherished "you will not cross this line" zone in Western culture. It's absurd to be sent to jail because you do a Nazi salute in public. That just automatically causes a lot of people to resent the Holocaust and its victims because it's a stupid rule and people don't like rules, youngsters especially. They automatically start seeing these "no-go" areas of culture as opportunities for protest or for just acting out.

If it wasn't so obviously "wrong"  to praise Hitler and if the swastika wasn't such a culturally forbidden (and, so, automatically intriguing) symbol, the facts of history could reign simply and unambiguously and people would have no problem remembering it as the atrocity that it was. But all of this moral paranoia about the Holocaust and it being so obviously "favored" (in terms of cultural remembrance and legal consequences) over other historical atrocities is directly stimulating ignorance about the facts.

Just my opinion. Too many people don't realize that by immediately judging these people and calling for their removal from society they are just throwing oil on the flames. That's what these sons of bitches live for, more confirmation and proof that there is something unfair going on, that they are being "limited" in some way which can be projected onto "the enemy". Step one is to fight fable with facts, not with aggression.
