She wishes that he liked her. He doesn't. But instead of just move on and let the guy be with someone else, she would rather the guy were gay. That way he wouldn't have a "way" of liking her. It just sounds weird and contrived to me to wish someone were gay just for your own sake (and that wouldn't even change anything). It's a very "obsessive crush" thing to say. Similar (but not the same) thing is rappers saying, "she doesn't like me, must be a lesbian" except here she's the one wishing that were the case. Just weird.
