"Biden was a driving force in the fight against busing and federal school desegregation. Biden consistently fought pro-busing measures, sponsored some of the most devastating anti-busing measures, and made some extremely questionable statements about busing and federal desegregation measures in general.

Biden’s record of voting and pushing for anti-busing measures goes back to when he first took office as a Democrat Senator from Delaware in 1973. He was not subtle. Biden’s original position was support for busing only as a tool to break legally-required segregation. But Biden soon joined the ranks of the Senate’s more outspoken busing opponents. As historian Jason Sokol noted in a 2015 article for Politico, Biden told the Senate in 1975 that he was “convinced that busing is a bankrupt concept.”

This could actually help Bernie if you think about it.

If Biden decides to officially run for President, this will cut into Kamala Harris' "lead" in the polls, allowing Bernie to swoop right in.

Yeah I’m hoping Kamala, Joe and a few others split the centrist vote and give it to Bernie.

So we’re going to abandon our principles of diviersity because it might help us to defeat Trump?

Shouldn't we be standing by who we think is the best candidate available regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc and then standing by the winner as a party? Not being sellouts to bigots?

I disagree.  I think Trump is the biggest threat to our democracy and liberal ideals in a long time. We can improve the world another day, but if we don't get him out of office, the damage he would do from 2020 to 2024 could be irreparable. Sorry, but I think we should be playing pragmatic, long game here.

I think those people are wrong as well. Same as people who say that about Bernie (tho that confuses cause he’s a minority as well).

I just don’t think people should vote based on that kind of superficiality, it hurts our primary process. We should focused on the issues, not the color of candidates skin.

Bernie isn’t a minority.

Most Democrats are going to vote on who they think can beat Trump. One thing is sure, we need someone who can carry some of the rust belt.

Whoever wins the primary, I’m voting for them! If it’s Biden, that’s who I will vote for.

Bernie is Jewish, one of the most historically oppressed groups in world history and there’s been plenty of anti Semitism that has happened in America. We’ve never had a Jewish president.

Biden has consistently been the top or in the top two favorites. The opinions here are not a good reflection of the US overall.
