Born This Way as a whole doesn't have one distinct genre, but the two most dominant genres are Techno and Electronic Rock, with a pop song structure (verse, chorus, hook, bridge, all that stuff). What I love about Born This Way is that, while the mixing and mastering is awful (I had to manually enhance it on iTunes), it doesn't sacrifice artistry for craftsmanship. Meaning the production is more aggressive. It "goes hard" as many people call it. I absolutely love the fact that the album is so much more underground in it's sound than The Fame and The Fame Monster were! Every song is a different genre, look below. Hide contents Marry The Night: Electronic Rock, House Born This Way: Electropop, Gospel Government Hooker: Techno, Industrial Judas: Electropop, Techno (Bridge) Americano: Techno, Mariachi, House Hair: Synth-pop, Smooth Jazz Scheibe: Electroclash, Eurodance Bloody Mary: Techno, Funk, Trip-Hop Black Jesus + Amen Fashion: Synth-pop Bad Kids: Dance-pop, Glam Rock Fashion of His Love: Dance-pop Highway Unicorn (Roadway to Love): Glam Rock, Synth-pop Heavy Metal Lover: Techno, Electronic Rock Electric Chapel: Electronic Rock The Queen: New Wave, Country Rock (last two minutes—when the tempo slows down and the guitars get twangier) You & I: Country Rock The Edge of Glory: Electronic Rock, House, Smooth Jazz (Bridge) Thanks for this The sun will rise each day. Will you?
Jakkusan 800
"You and I" is very much a rock song. "Electric Chapel" is also very rock, just with a more electronic spin put on it. And there are elements of rock throughout BTW and most of her music. I love BTW so much because it can't be put in one box!

Yes, it has some experimentation, but the music that comes under the Experimental genre literally is way more subversive and "experimental" than anything on Born This Way. GypsyBabe 22,836
I hear a lot of rock elements, industrial, electro, and some late 80s pop. So I would just say it's experimental tbh. ⚯͛
