Which they are doing.

You can still call a dictator a dictator.

The US supports 70% of the worlds dictatorships. Atrocities around the world keep happening and you can hear a pin drop. How is this any different?

There is a narrative that the military industrial complex is pushing.

Enough is enough.

You do realize you can acknowledge a dictator and then explain why international intervention is not the answer?

You do realize you can also choose not be selectively outraged over semantics? You nor I fully understand the situation in Venezuela or its best solution.

He is a presidential candidate. His failure of calling Maduro a dictator will come back to haunt him next year.

You don’t have to “fully understand” anything to know Maduro is a murderous dictator.

The suffering of the Venezuelan people at the hands of Maduro should not be taken lightly.

Nah. The pros far outweigh the cons. I couldn’t care less if Bernie calls Maduro, or Putin, or the prince of Saudi Arabia a dictator.

My priority is the policies that effect me and the rest of Americans and no republican or neoliberal is going to satisfy that need.

The only people who are making this an outrage are the establishment media, who believe this is sacrilege within their bubble, and people who have some grudge against Bernie and or the progressive movement.

Most of America disagrees. When Fox News plays clips of Sanders not going far enough against Maduro, he will rue his light condemnation.

Public peception is very important no matter what your policies are.

You really think this conflict is about words? As if calling him a dictator will alleviate any part of the crisis? The reason he is choosing to not call him a dictator at this point in time is because calling him a one does in fact give the Republican party, the Senate and the presidency the legal wiggle room to create American military intervention.

Yes, Bernie Sanders and his declaration at a town hall will immediately activate a US-led coup in Venezuela.

That Fox News coverage was a pathetic propaganda piece and she was really shooting for the Oscar.

Idk what coverage you are referring to

You're clearly missing the point, but I can see this thread wasn't made for a productive dialogue, its about selective outrage. Peace

This thread was made to report about this.

There is no agenda. I’m a Bernie supporter. Just not a blind follower.

The point of forcing Sanders to call him a dictator is to reinforce the idea of an intervention.

If Venezuelans want to change their leader, they or the region can do it themselves. I, and many other people, have had enough of the US having unlimited amount of money to be the world police, but never enough money for domestic affairs.

A lot of truths

When you label yourself a Democratic Socialist, and fail to denounce dictators how most of the American public perceives as adequate, you will lose credibility with the American populace.

When you have the Mexican president who is a leftist not being tough on Maduro, there is a problem.

Bernie has to prove he is different than some of these people.

I don't agree with US intervention because I know the consequences, but I'm just looking out for Bernie and how the public will perceive him.

This rhetoric may be adequate for the more leftist part of his base. But for many it is not.
