DC 25,164
Hey guys, so I just watched this interview for the BTW album, at the end (in the time below) she says she wants to make the BTWB tour to be a continuation of the TMB tour. Obviously that didn't happen nor did it keep the backstory. But the more I thought about it, could the Artrave possibly be the continuation that never happened for TMB? I know, VERY skeptical, but let me give some receipts: The very pop theme During The Monster Ball, the storyline is getting through New York City just to get to the Monster Ball, but until Bad Romance there really isn't much of an image or understanding of what The Monster Ball really is in the storyline, so who knows, it could possibly be a large rave, and the metallic outfit FOR bad romance could definitely be worn to a rave... I think. The very artsy and pop themes The Monster Ball and the Artrave were probably the two most themed out tours out of all of the ones she's done. The segments and themes are very different each time whereas many of her other tours only change costumes, lighting, and the songs of course. The themes of these tours are very similar in regards to the plots and storylines behind them. The intro of the artrave seems to be a correlation of the ending of Bad Romance where she stands in the direct center of stage, exactly where she stands at the end of BR in TMB, as if it were a continuation. This doesn't necessarily mean anything but it's just an observation. Both of the paparazzi performances are definitely ocean inspired with the giant sea monster and blue dress of the monsterball and the iconic octopus costume from the artrave, let me also say that she takes off the attire from both costumes off during that sang. On the bridge she takes off the iconic cubes off the dress and is left with a swimming suit like bass. At the artrave she takes off the octopus tentacles and tentacle hat around the same time of the bridge/last chorus, Venus also reminds me of the Paparazzi MB act from all the sea-like inspirations. The Aura-Alejandro segment from the Artrave correlates with the Monster-Alejandro segments from the The Monster Ball from the green lighting, to the provocative/sexual themes, all the way to black latex/robber outfits, and of course ending with Alejandro, once again, just another observation. The little stuff These two tours had the most instruments ranging from the basic guitars, to organs, all the way to backing vocalists (the last couple of dates at least). Many people say that these tours had the best overall sound, which results in the energy, I mean would you rather jam out to 4800 HQ wav file or some muffled mp3 "leak-like" file that kills your ears? This answer is obvious . Conclusion Do I believe the Artrave is really a continuation of The Monster Ball? No. But all the connections and elements are definitely there. This is just a little throw back to what she said a little while ago that really gets you thinking. 2School4Cool 6,449
I don’t actually think she planned this, but it’s a very interesting idea that the artRAVE essentially is The Monster Ball. She tries to get to The Monster Ball during the show, then the artRAVE is the actual show. I don’t think this is really true, but it’s an interesting fan theory. Off topic but you mentioned she added backup singers for the final artRAVE dates. Does anyone know why she did this so close to the end of the tour? Does anyone know why she did this so close to the end of the tour? Maybe cause she just wanted a less artificial sound through playback for the live stream? I don’t know, she probably wanted that live sound that the Monster Ball gave for the Artrave, which could tie them together in a way ... just kidding
SLAG 7
I long for a theatrical Gaga show! With sets and a story line I can follow. Inb4 Enigma has a story line.
