LG6 Will Be Similar to ASIB

I remember in an acceptance speech, I can't remember which one, she noted that the success of ASIB OST will affect her next record. This leads me to believe that she scrapped the initial pop-heavy Boyz Noize record for something similar to ASIB OST. I don't think she made another stripped down, Americana Joanne, but I do believe her next record will have a sufficient amount of pop, will probably be just as much a ballad contemporary album. What the pop will sound like, whether it be electro ARTPOP or The Cure/ASIB, who knows.

Thoughts?

No, horrible. If there's something I want, it's a C-O-H-E-S-I-V-E album. Joanne was a mess cohesively, as was the ASIB OST (for a reason, of course). I'm fine with an adult contemporary album full of slow jams and power ballads a la ASIB, but it needs to be COHESIVE. Just filter out the dance pop completely if you are so desperate to follow ASIB's footsteps to remain relevant.

Scrapping an entire album because of ASIB's success, and let's be real, Shallow's success, is not a cute look. Bling, not the music indeed.

I would be down for a sound similar to ASIB because she does it so well, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want more pop-type music right now.

Also, considering Ally is a character for a movie I'm sort of inclined to believe she'll step away from that.

So... totally uncreative and unimaginative? ASIB soundtrack was perfect for what it was - a believable and realistic imitation of current pop sounds and traditional, cliché ballads.

But if she released an album like that as her own work, I'd sue:madge:

Yes, there is a probability.

Even because 'Heal Me' was originally intended for the LG6, and then entered the soundtrack

but since the album direction has changed, maybe the album vibe has moved

Well you have a valid point. But like I heard Katy say in an interview about Witness, no one likes to work hard on ANYTHING for a good amount of time for it to be labelled a flop or to not be as successful as you thought it would. I can understand her not wanting to have another ARTPOP so soon after her second peak.

I believe the concepts would change obviously change to be more... Gaga, the ballad type sound will remain, but the pop could sound like anything tbh.

The concepts would change but the sound would remain. It would be a "Gaga record". One thing you can say about Gaga's record is they aren't "boring."(sans many moments on Joanne) plus the pop could be anything.

She probably won't entirely rewalk ASIB, but I'm inclined to believe why she would make another contemporary album. I mean she's having a repeak (MR, Joanne winning a Grammy, Shallow,) no one will just intentionally throw all that away with an alienating pop album to her new fanbase.

Katy Perry isn't much of an artist as she is an entertainer (and a product, no shade). But, I don't think Katy ever tried to be seen seriously as an artist and a respectable musician. I think she has always been a highly-produced, but FUN, ENTERTAINING popstar. That's her thing, or at least her thing since she dropped her, I believe Gospel roots?

I also haven't seen Katy Perry talk about MUSIC NOT THE BLING to the extent Gaga has.

Part of being an artist, is taking risks that the mainstream won't necessarily enjoy. And that's kind of what I feel Gaga has done most of her career, succeeding sometimes, succeeding less the other times. To let success change the course of what you as an artist would actually want to do is, well, it's called selling out, and it's transparent as heck, not a cute look at all. If that's what Gaga wants to do though, I'm sure she'll deliver a decent body of work regardless of my opinion, but I'd respect her more if she just does what her artistry tells her to... okay that was cheesy but you get what I mean.

I loved Joanne and ASIB and never complained once but I had enough with ballads and country. I want something different, rock, disco, electronic, DANCE.. I want to hear hear voice over a beat, is that too much to ask??

I totally get what you're saying, but I also remember (lmao) in 5FT2, she mentioned she can never go back to fully being "Lady Gaga" because in her words: " Why did I make this record in the first place?"(Joanne) I kind of want Gaga to maintain the success  she has now so she can ascend to legendary level. I don't think her career in the long run can take another ARTPOP so soon. As long as it's a good album, with some unique pop hits and good belting ballads, I'd be content tbh. It would be silly to make a pop album after being successful with ASIB and MR. I don't think Gaga will ever fully backtrack.

I can almost 100% guarantee LG6 will have pop elements. I don't think Gaga will just deprive her fanbase of it for so long. Then again she might've noticed how ASIB's pop tracks are flopping and took it the wrong way. I can see that being a statistic she would like to see, streaming statistics of each track on ASIB, so who knows.
