Why the response to Gaga's breakup is so troubling

I can’t disagree about some of the normies.

I honestly don't want them to be together, as it kind of disproves this article, that two people can love each other without being IN love.

We live in a culture that thrives on drama (see Jordyn vs. Kardashians, and how social media is living for the scandal). So I truly truly do not want this to play out the way people are hoping for it to.

but tbh it's kind of looking that way :selena:

Same. I wanted them to be together for so long but now I'm starting to feel like I just want it to be a special friendship.

I'm all for lightheartedly shipping people together (but not something I would say online) but people express the shipping in such an obsessive way that its just really really weird to read.

Also while we are on the topic: The GP always puts this all on Gaga.

Almost like they ignore Bradley’s heart eyes towards her.

Again, yes he has a kid. But I didn’t force him to look at her like she invented the world...

Love this.

However I have to play devils advocate because...well I’m just the devil!

It is possible that people who are rooting for Bradley and Gaga aren’t just a bunch of sex starved goblins.

I think in this cynical smoking ball of sh!t planet we live on, people look for hope.

Whatever they are, friends...intense friends...you can tell it’s 100 percent real. There is nothing fake about it, so don’t @ me.

People respond to it in deep ways or anything genuine, because life is now a giant Instagram filter.

Gaga said herself she admired his honesty and he's said in several interviews he's very transparent. I agree looks real to me especially after those longing gazes in Vegas and whatever he mouthed to her before she kissed him on the cheek the first time

The ****ing tea. I feel empowered reading this... (The following copied and pasted from the article...)

Also, why do we care if Lady Gaga is single or not?

It should go without saying there is so much more to Lady Gaga than any man she’s sharing a bed with. This is the very same Fame Monster who wore a dress made of actual f**king meat, just to make some sort of deep artistic point. Who brought four LGBT service members to the VMAs. Who invited rape victims on stage with her at the Oscars for her performance of Til It Happens To You. Who shared the raw struggle of her Fibromyalgia journey with the world. Who dropped $1000 on pizza for her fans.

No, Gaga’s not some reality star who relies on her colourful personal life to make a buck: she’s an award-winning singer, songwriter and actress, too. Strike that: she’s a mother-f**king icon, for Christ’s sake! It’s genuinely depressing that we’re lumping her into the gross “who’s sleeping with who?” section of the fish-rag tabloids.  :firega:

Totally see where you're coming from - I think it's a mixed bag. It's partially people who want a fairytale romance, and it truly would be an incredible story, them falling in love. Plus, GP doesn't give a **** about Christian, we barely even know anything about him. So this is something that people can root for, and feel like they have involvement in through the film.

But, I think the reverse of that is people rooting for this to happen because they live for scandal. It's Gaga being a home-wrecker, Bradley leaving Irina, the debate on how long it's been happening for, the fact that Bradley has a kid, that Gaga was engaged, etc. Like, there are so many factors to this that are downright salacious, and I think that is what the people honestly get their rocks off on in the social media age.

Exposing, dragging, and cancelling. Welcome to 2019. :vegas:

I think to the public & tabloids, friends appreciating friends is boring. People will always want scandal, romance and drama from celebs. People derive entertainment from them. That's just celebrity culture that's been going on or eons. Before Hollywood it was the royals, before that, gods and goddesses.

I agree. I remember reading Vulture's article that compiled all the compliments Gaga and Bradley have given each other, and Bradley's compliments far more intense, calling her his soulmate, saying he knew everything about her, how he fell in love with her eyes and face, just knew she was the one etc, whereas Gaga's were surprisingly tame in comparison like, "he's an amazing director" "no one else could play a rock star like him" etc.

Right? So why isn’t he getting dragged for this?

Fam, I forgot all that stuff he said.

You ain’t wrong!

In the land of ranch dressing, people so live for this kinda ish.

It’s sad. Which is why I do worry, because Gaga gonna get dragged as a bunny boiler (big ups to Glenn!) and Rocket the Racoon is gonna a skate.

Sigh. It’s hard to be a woman.

And I didn't even include the one where he said he hoped his daughter turned out like Gaga because he & Gaga were both "loved as children." I thought this was odd because this implies Irina wasn't loved as a child - I think Irina is still real close with her mom as she went to a Beyonce concert with Irina & Bradley. Also, wouldn't you want your daughter to turn out like her mom?  :smh:

I kind of feel like while Gaga is OTT with her physical affection (she hugs and kisses everyone), and Bradley is OTT with his words. Usually we see her interact with octogenarians like Tony who is just kind of ...there, or people like Mark who aren't used to friends being affectionate, and don't know what to do or make of it (like when she was finalizing mixing on Joanne and gave him a big hug). With Bradley its like she met her match in that sense - he'll hug her back just as hard and also talk really intensely about her, so I think that's why its a chemistry explosion with them, even if they're just friends.
