SharkmanthaC 113,284
While I've seen lots of Gaga videos and watched ASIB multiple times, AHS is the only thing I haven't really watched. How violent/horror story is it? I do not like scary/horror movies at all. I can deal with some violence (such as I watched True Blood in its entirety, but it was borderline). So give me your thoughts....could I handle it? she/her/hers
Ferrara 122
It’s not scary at all. There’s just a lot of sex, fashion and blood. I’m referring to Gaga’s season.

SiliconeMonster 1,617
It has its moments but it's not horribly violent. There are some scenes with gore but it's not disgustingly gory. There's almost no jumpscares or sudden scenes. It's mostly a psychological horror. I definitely think it's worth watching and that you'd enjoy it. zakariah 11,718
I thought season 9 was titled 'American Horror Story: Could I Watch It?' mess @ me OT: I feel that only S1/S2 has any real jumpscares or scares at all, the rest of the seasons are quite soft
LaLa 19,633
I am also a huge horror wimp (truly HATE jump scare type stuff), but I watched it no problem. It wouldn't say it's scary, just gory, and that's mostly so over the top it can be almost funny at times. It is very comparable to True Blood in that way. There is some sexual violence, especially in the pilot if I remember correctly, but I just fast forwarded. I say go for it, and if you find you truly don't enjoy it just watch Gaga's parts and read wikipedia plot summaries of the rest.

Morphine Prince 105,455
Think of AHS as horror THEMED. It’s not scary in the traditional sense. Give it a try!
MonsterPaws 2,723
Not scary at all. Just creepy and violent but also very lighthearted (a la Ryan Murphy's style imo). If anything it's also very funny depending on which season you're watching. I didn't watch them in order (I don't think you have to but you might miss references and whatnot) so I've only seen the Gaga seasons (Hotel, Roanoke), Coven, Cult, and now Apocalypse. Coven and Apocalypse have moments of comedic gold. It's a great show and if you don't like horror movies (the jump scare kind) then you're completely fine. bloody g 31,746
The first episode is a bit unsetteling but it's one of the least scary seasons 『𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝』

Maxie 121
If you're talking about watching Hotel, the season Gaga was in, let me warn you. The first scene of the season will probably put you off, when I saw it I just came back to watch the rest of the season 3 months later. That said, besides that, it was really not a big deal. The scenes with the Addiction Demon are also unsettling, but not because of the "horror" part. EDIT: If you're really not that into horror. The season afterwards, that also have Gaga in a smaller character, may not be for you.
Stephen 30,423
There are shocking moments. Things that might gross you out. Lots of blood but it’s really over the top and kinda campy imo. A lot of it is done with irony, not always but often. Lots of sex. Comedic moments. It’s smart and it makes you think. A lot of cool references. It’s really more of a romance drama meets mystery thriller meets fashion and art exhibition with random blood baths im only talking about Hotel though
Bradley 58,946
AHS is just a horror-themed drama, it's not outright horror in the way that horror movies are. In fact the horror elements are very mild, people usually just watch it to see how shocking things get and how the characters interact with each other. I heard Freakshow is good do you recommend that season, too? I don't mind not watching some seasons. I could have gone not seeing Roanoke for example.
