If you as a host want me to tune in, I better see your performers do what they want to do. Besides, award shows are losing credibility every year. Look at the ratings. Trust me, this won’t affect Ariana at all. We are in different times now.

This is goes beyond the ratings. Grammy are consisted of people working in the showbiz. If Ari is proven to be hard to work with, the news will spreads quickly. It will be the end of her before she knows it.

A guest need to compromise with the host, especially since the host not only cater to Ariana alone. Besides, if Ariana is professional, she would talk things out and find a win-win solution for both parties. Showing her good intention to honor the contract or agreement between them.

Trust me, with that kind of attitude that Ariana showing here, if this true, and if she is keeping this up, she will be black listed so quick from showbiz, it happened before and it won't stop now.

From the situation its clear that she didnt know they're going to decide what song she should perform etc (the contract is probably dont specify on those terms). If she alr sign it theres no way she can breach it that easily

Gaga to to BAFTA and let Grammys flop challenge. Do that challenge. It’s what they deserve after the comments they made about women last year.

Eh...she could have just compromised. It's not as if she was going to get to be blocked from performing 7 Rings at all.

I kind of love how she left them in the lurch because they're probably mad now.

Anyway, team no one on this.

They wouldn't let her perform her most urban sounding song to date that also happens to the the number one song on Billboard for a second week in a row.

Shocking.

If it were a dance song they would have been fine with her performing the second single.

Not sure what happening here.

Maybe time constraints, who knows?

They could have some performances of tributes usually and that usually kind of long in duration.

But anyway, this shows Grande being unprofessional to storm out just like that if true. Gaga was still performing even though MTV didn't allow her original idea for Applause performance on VMA, you can't always have what you want, there should be compromise.

And she blasted the Grammy's a year later for exactly that incident :awkney: Didn't she also say she'd rather go back to singing in bars before she changed who she was :madge:

Sometimes compromises that big are an insult to your artistic integrity, that's something each artist has to decide for themselves. It's just a freakin' award show no one watches anymore, it's just about money and exposure. I don't see why we should criticize artists for saying "meh, not worth it" and walking out. That has nothing to do with their professionalism imo.

She still performs, and see how far she comes now. She can complain and sigh about whetever after that. It's on her. Defending your artistry doesn't mean you have to be a jerk about it, it will only taint your image with people who also works in the same industry as her.

Not just music business, the whole aspect of showbiz will shun anyone who are too hard to work with. Or being too diva.

LBR Ariana still need to learn a lot. Acting the way she did is problematic and unprofessional.

Ari is way better than them anyways. It’s the Grammys that’ll have less relevance without her, not the other way around. The record breaking bitch? W 2 #1 debuting singles? Is this a joke? I’m not even a stan but **** the Grammys committee for continuously limiting the free expression of artists. They’re dying and it’s what the deserve.

Well, I think compromising your art just for some extra buzz is what's really problematic and unprofessional :madge: Wouldn't we all have rather had the original Applause performance? I know I would and I would've been proud of her had she said **** all y'all to the Grammy's and explained the situation afterwards like I'm sure Ari will do as well. Nothing unprofessional about that.

This isn't a producer or a music video director (and we all know Gaga fired one herself for creative differences), this is just a stupid award show :air: If anything, Ari's move will make sure everyone knows now that you can't tell her what to do after you invited her to share her work with the world. How is that a bad thing?
