NewYorkCity 10,536
10 minutes ago, Didymus said: Then why did he say she was insanely talented? Ne-Yo just doesn't care so much about commerce. It's not his fault that so many pop fans value commercial success over musical talent Like, that's what's funniest about this whole situation. Ne-Yo was just making a statement about the current state of the music industry and was just using Gaga as an example. What he's not saying is that Gaga's not going to become an icon because she's not talented enough (!), what he is saying is that despite her talent, the music industry just does not produce icons anymore. Huge difference. I get it, I do. I said that this was unnecessary, and even more the second response. But, he didn't address what you are saying, he just said that it was a different time. like: In that time we all thought she was over. Which is what I said about him just jumping on the Gaga hate. He could have named any other artist, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Britney... Why did he mention Gaga? Because it was cool to say "she is over" in 2012-2013. That's my point. I am not defending or attacking anyone. Even if he isn't saying directly that she is over, he is supporting those who do. I couldn't care less about him, what he said or anything lol

Where did she say that though? I must've missed something. If this is about his "I wasn't the only one" I think he meant that more as a general statement, as if, we all say **** that years later turn out to be untrue
Ronlop 6,882
9 minutes ago, Didymus said: What he meant was clearly not related to Gaga but to the music industry in general though Like, I'm genuinely baffled that so many of you guys can't see that. This has nothing to do with relevancy, this has to do with how the music industry keeps on producing "the next big thing" in 10x bigger speed than it used to, which makes becoming an icon impossible these days no matter how talented you are (and he's right on top of that). Besides, after namedropping her, he still called her talented and clarified that he wasn't shading her, so what's the problem? What is really unnecessary is bringing it up after 7 years and pretending he needs to be taught a lesson That would be true if he didn't add: "Everybody thought it was going to be Lady GaGa but where is she right now, what's going on with her?" I'm not sure why you think him adding Gaga to his argument is necessary even if he didn't mean to drag her but rather make a point about the music industry. It's unnecessary and it's funny to look back at it now because he was 100% wrong. Which is why @Admin tweeted. And in the response back, Admin clarified that "maybe it's best not to namedrop and question people's relevancy in interviews" which is nothing hateful and is also true. He didn't attack him and Ne-Yo took it the right way. So what I'm not understand is why you guys are not taking it the right way? And why some of you guys are stooping low to call @Admin pathetic or embarassing.

I'm not sure why you think him adding Gaga to his argument is necessary even if he didn't mean to drag her but rather make a point about the music industry. Because... do you have a memory? Everyone was calling her the new Madonna, the savior of pop, etc. Her build-up was absolutely huge and then nothing really came out of it (I'm not saying that as a drag, I'm just saying that the majority of the public checked out which you can't deny). It's just a ****ing example He didn't mention Rihanna, Katy or whatever because they were never called "the next Whitney" or whatever. They're just pop stars. Gaga was the one who was gonna outdo all of them and then suddenly she couldn't anymore. That makes her the best example. And he added that it was not a drag at all towards her and said she was "ridiculously talented" which clarifies that even if she was flopping back then, that had nothing to do wit the quality of her work. Why are you guys still ignoring that 2 minutes ago, Ronlop said: And in the response back, Admin clarified that "maybe it's best not to namedrop and question people's relevancy in interviews" which is nothing hateful and is also true. Imo he really did not do that And that wasn't just a shady tweet. That was like only a few weeks after she and Katy had that whole "women stick together, stop the competition, why is the media always pitting women against each other! Good luck with Applause/Roar!" shtick which Gaga embarrassingly broke with that ridiculous tweet. It was a horrible moment that I'm sure Gaga regrets now. The joke is that she was actively gunning for Katy there when Ne-Yo wasn't with Gaga But whatever floats your boat.

First of all, I didn't know having an opinion different from you is "sucking Admins ass" but go off I guess. No one attacked Ne-Yo though. I'm not getting why you think it's an attack when Admin clarified "Not trying to send hate your way"... The first tweet was a light joke, then Ne-Yo responded so @Admin did too. It's not like he said anything that isn't true. No one is holding grudge over what Ne-Yo said if you think that's the case.
