River 127,344
Simple, gay rights in the EU are pretty much good and stable, there's marriage and others things, so the LGBTQ+ community is in a weird moment of "we have nothing to fight for", so little by little some gays, mostly those who barely fought for any rights and usually leech on, are showing their true face and moving out from the left wing parties that fought for their rights... It's not even a case of "immigrants homophobia" let's be honest.. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

If one side doesn't want me to exist or wants to cut back my rights as a citizen I can't support it simply as that. People that support this side position themselves against me that's also simple. If you can't understand that that's your problem. I want to survive and I want to maintain my rights to live a free life without oppression. All I'm saying is it's not the only thing in life to consider so it may explain why some in LGBT may support the party that isn't the most LGBT friendly Plus I don't know the politics of each of these nations but could it also be at times that there isn't that much at stake? Here in Canada for example the conservatives may not be as exited about LGBT rights as the Liberals or promote the rights but removing them is hardly their priority nor do they ever discuss it I can't speak for every country but perhaps some of these parties have priorities that don't involve LGBT right removals

Decide but don't be surprised when other people look at you funny. But it's up to people to decide which issues are biggest to them and in turn who to support... It's not your job to decide for others what the biggest deciding factor in a party should be then tell people they are part of the problem if their biggest deciding factor isn't your biggest deciding factor Here on GGD LGBT rights seems to be 80% of politics discussions but I'm sorry to say in my opinion the world doesn't revolve around that it's merely one big issue out of many and it's not the holy grail of politics

So yes, in this case, being gay defines your political choices, unless your racism is stronger than who you are.

JusKeepBreathin 19,311
I'm pretty sure Matthew Shepard's tragedy in 1998 and his family's hard work is one if the biggest reasons for more political awareness of gay issues and big shift into gay equality. Before that most gay men blamed other gay men for the spread of AIDS and so did most of Americans. My opinion is only an opinion not a fact.
