MR showed potential right away and they'd been crazy had they not released it. And even if they went along with A-YO, they'd have still had to release MR as the 3rd single. Something similiar happened to Katy with PRISM : Roar smashed, she wanted Unconditionally as the 2nd single even tho Dark Horse was slaying hard, basically forcing her to release it as the 3rd single.
