If someone likes the performance but they're not a huge fan then they might only buy the song if it's discounted. I don't think you can change the price during the week anyway so it's a whatever

that doesn't matter. When people search for a song and see it's 0.69 instead of 1.29, they are more likely to buy it. Never new there was even a discount section anyway. The GP doesn't normally go out of their way to look for that. They just scroll the charts or use search to find what they are looking for.

there is a reason why there is absolutely almost no songs is discounted these days. It's because no one is searching for a song to buy it, they only buy it because they see it is #1 on the charts, they are featured on the front page.

The discount section was featured on the front page before. That's why songs are discounted very often back then.

This means the audio and/or video was registered by UMG. This is a good sign. Those streams could be on the hot 100. The only issue is that we don't know if it's for the audio or the video itself.

That business model is called User Generated Content (UGC) And it’s basically what you’re describing: the label gets money from the users’ videos that include songs from their catalogue.

there’s no need to report the video, the match is done automatically using a unique code they every video/song gets when it’s puvlished by the label. Those views will most likely count. At least, I don’t see why they shouldn’t.

I’m assuming that the video helped to drive sales and streaming points from other platforms. Per our good sister @Gypsy Life, the upload didn’t account for bb100

Just to throw some quick numbers, they all add up to 10+ million views. The positive thing is that most of them are under “music”. 

We need to claim all of those views @Admin  

 

Interscope/UMG is probably already on it 

Warner Bros. knows this going #1 is going to help boost their movie that's currently re-expanding + will help sell the DVD/Blu-ray. They might be in on making sure interscope is on top of claiming these videos. Who knows.

When we use the YouTube charts, particularly the “Top Songs” chart, that mixes views for the official videos as well as UGC (lyric videos, choreography videos, etc)

 

the same thing happens with YouTube for artists (@Gypsy Life) tagging you since you use that a lot

Shallow needs to be playing for at least 30 seconds to count. So sadly it doesn't.

it doesn't need to be. It's a matter of if the video is claimed by the copyright owner or not. If the user uploader uploaded this video under "automotive" for example, it doesn't change the fact that it contains copyrighted content. Thank God, that doesn't matter to us.
