Born This Way VS Lemonade

Tbh the aesthetic of Lemonde, the tough bitch, trap rap, glammed up country down-home vibe was already happening. Like Gucci monogram, braids, The Weeknd, excessive sexuality and raunchiness. That was already trending.

With Born This Way, NO ONE else was doing what she did. 90's metal, rock influenced, Springsteen stadium glam pop mother****ing realness. Versace at the time was seen as SO tacky, and Donatella relaunched Atelier Versace during the era. You now see every other celebrity in the 90's-inspired Gianni prints, and it's clear that Gaga bringing that back is still relevant today.

Plus, I don't know if you guys remember the time, but the explicitly gay lyrics were so so SO revolutionary and bold. And tbh, we haven't had a song that so outwardly included all minorities since. It was way ahead of its time.

So personally, Born This Way. It was unlike anything else, and remains untouched imo.

This is exactly what happened, you just answered your own question :ladyhaha:

Also, how did Lemonade get influenced by other pop stars? Serious question.

1. Idk how I answered my question.

2. Like I said, Beyoncé with lemonade helped shaped what pop music is today. Pop music today is very influenced by rap music and R&B. Which Beyoncé did perfectly with Lemonade.

I can see how she influenced some of these people above.

Guys, I’m talking about influential for other artists, not the quality of the album. Can yo show me ways of how BTW inspired other pop stars?

Maybe not with the BTW album in particular. But I'd argue Gaga's overall impact on other pop stars far exceeds the influence of her peers, including Beyonce. I mean the whole general aping of her visual aesthetic and the way she forced other pop stars to up their music video quality and stage productions to compete with her is pretty telling, not to mention single handedly (along with The Black Eyed Peas) brought pure electronic music back to US pop radio.

The only person who has actually given me an answer. I can’t even argue with you on that because that’s true. The way she showed so much support for the lgbt community and women with BTW, it’s how she inspired a lot of artists today. To be as free with their sexuality and embrace their womanhood. Well, this thread has come to an end lol.

Tbh, a lot of Gaga fans wouldn't be empowered by Lemonade just like many Beyonce fans wouldn't be empowered by BTW. There's some crossover in fandom, but overall the fanbases couldn't be anymore different. And we wouldn't be comparing if Gaga or Bey was a man while the other was a woman. They're completely different types of artwork that were made with unique creative minds, culture, and production. And just in terms of influence you could say either was more successful depending on varying demographics and time period.

Personally, in regards to the question in the OP, Lemonade. Mainly because of the GP reaction to both albums. But again, different types of music, audiences, time periods, place in the world(Gaga probably wins there), etc. Maybe if they were both released in the same year we'd have a better look into it, but we'll never know.

BTW

is that even a question :triggered: legendary album, great message, iconic singles, stunning visuals, huge WW impact and more.

Haven’t heard Orange Juice entirely, just like 3 tracks, but not my cup of tea.
