Just spoke with the facts committee. They confirmed to me that Gaga does indeed deserve to win Best Actress.

She deserves BOS. BA can be won later in her career, ASIB is a wonderful showcase of her acting but I know she can do better and her competition is extremely good this year.

Yes but honestly it'll be okay if she doesn't win Best Actress. People are really rooting for Glenn and I don't want this to be a thing where Gaga wins and most people think it was a mistake and that she didn't deserve it. I'd much rather be here for a TIHTY win where the GP actually thinks she deserved it and is moved. And Gaga can definitely give us another great Oscar worthy performance.

Don’t care. I want her to win regardless.

I cant say if she deserves or not because I haven’t seen any of the competing films.

Knowing how hard she works and how much she's improved, I don't see a single reason why not.

I want her to give an in-character chill-inducing performance of Shallow with Bradley at the Oscars, that goes insanely viral.

If she doesn’t win, she’s still be the real winner to the GP who will think she was snubbed. :ally:

ask yourself if any of the other actresses in the category could have played Ally.

And yes, of course Gaga being a musician is better suited to playing Ally, but are we going to penalize the others for using their own life and industry experiences for their roles?

Its subjective, each actress contributed in their own ways to their own movies.  Unless you specify some objectively measurable criteria that can be used to judge these very individual performances, then Gaga has just as much right to be there as any of the others.

YES.

If it was critically panned and she somehow snuck in with lip synced performances (*glares at Rami*) then I’d say no objectively but ALL the top critics universally praised it, AND it was a smash (it’s one of the highest grossing rated R movies of all time) , AND its Lady ****in Gaga.

Honestly Toni Collette was my favorite performance this year and she wasn’t even nominated so I’m fine with Gaga getting it.

(I think the favourite will get it)

that's for the academy to judge and only their opinions matter as to who gets the oscar so technically discussing this makes no sense :trollga:

Really though yes she does.

When I watched ASIB, and she sang INLA at the end and gives that stare into the camera, I remember thinking if that’s not Oscar worthy I don’t know what is.

I haven’t seen The Favourite or The Wife though but come one, Gaga wrote the music to the film too. I think y’all are underestimating her chances. She gave an incredibly powerful performance and complimented it with stunning music.

She deserves this award.

I think A Star Is Born is a better movie than The Wife, which automatically makes Gaga's life easier to give an extraordinary performance. But Glenn gave us that emotional and subtle performance that you expect from a veteran like her, and did not have neither the best directing or the best screenplay. So, I think Glenn deserves the most.

I have yet to see the other movies.
