AnglerfishbraBENUS 5,734
Shallow is obviously universally popular and known. It will win purely based on this. It’s what happened with Sam Smith. His song was simply just the bond song so of course it won.
Borislshere 53,084
That is the most delusional article ever. Shallow isn’t the perfect choice to win because it sounds good but because it drove the film. All the Stars is just a song made for a soundtrack not necessarily the movie itself. Soundtrack is not supposed to stand on its own, the more it is interwined with film the better. Soundtrack is supposed to represent film in music form, not just to collect bunch of trendy singer and make surefire hit album

I still play and hear the Black Panther soundtrack here in NYC dozens of times more than I hear ASIB.
WorstBehavior 1,141
Unlike “All The Stars”, Shallow actually has something to do with the film in fact, when the song is performed in the film, most people agree it’s the most powerful scene. lairofhk 935
I do kind of agree with them. As hard as it is to be a Gaga fan and say that, I feel like it is the right thing to do , especially in this cultural moment
Ziggy 11,874
I honestly don’t get the love for All The Stars. I find it to be incredibly middle of the road for both artists and not even the best track on that soundtrack. It’s super forgettable imo. That’s not saying Shallow is exactly not those things either, but I’m just saying I don’t get the hype for that song specifically. Kendrick has done better as has SZA. It was a fine collab and that’s all I can say. But fine doesn’t win awards imo and shouldn’t.
