She’s more romantically attracted to men but sexually attracted to both I believe. Why would she say she’s bi and white songs about being bi if it wasn’t true? Also, is this straight to you?

Is that Tamar Braxton?  :messga:

Its not only that She hasnt seemingly had a full relation with a woman and its a bit in the past.

Its mostly that She's a ciswoman a normative hetero relationship for more than 5 years, and theres no distinction or prejudice against her. Besides that She's bit "funny"/excentric/weird, to which most of us connect. But the movie, her current career couldnt be more normative.

So okay shes lgbt but so what. And lets not push agendas as well. Shes Stefani who surely always dreamed of getting there and telling her accp speech.

As much as i love gaga. Theres no value here for the lgbt community. And thats okay. Why do we need to constantly bring this kind of things. A person cannot be proud just because of its talent and work? What on earth does this have to do with lgbt? Even if She is bissexual it might have nothing to with community but just for her

After reading this thread I feel like:

It is inappropriate to question someone’s sexuality no matter who they are. I believe what she has said in her own words and that she is bisexual. How she chooses to express that is her own private business.

It is inappropriate to try and quantify someone’s sexuality as though it needs direct proof or value. Sexuality involves a spectrum and it not so easily defined.

I feel very badly for bisexuals after reading this thread which is basically dismissing their credibility. Like apparently there are things that make you a real bisexual or not? That’s messed up.

Also, generally speaking, straight women don’t have s*x with women and like licking p*ssy.

If a male pop star told the world he was a bisexual in high profile interview, went on to admitted that he enjoys having sex with men, that he particularly like performing oral sex with men, wrote songs about having sex with men, spent the first half of his career making out with other men in music videos, dressed in drag and flirted with another male pop star - would you doubt his bisexuality?

This. For women, bisexuality is taken even less seriously. It’s like everyone has been brainwashed by p0rn and the media and thinks all women go through a “bi-curious” college phase. Or that women sleep with eachother as a hobby or something. I feel awful for bisexual women because they aren’t taken seriously at all. As you said in the above scenario, for a man, his sexual preferences would not be questioned.

Yeah I would probably just think he’s gay

And this is the issue I have with this. Gaga is bi and got all the benefits of being a rich white women.

A bi man would be shunned by the media and gp.

But you can't deny that exactly because of p-rn and media "brainwashing" there's the element of faked bisexuality at play though  Like, the difference between men and women is exactly that for men there is absolutely no advantage to identify as bisexual, but for women there is actually something to gain  Cue Jessie J, I Kissed a Girl etc. etc.

I'm not saying Gaga's lying per se, I'm just saying there is an element of strategy at play in the realm of female celebs, like it or not. That should be taken into the equation.

Spoiler

OT: Honestly though, the doubt around her sexuality doesn't necessarily come from a place of bi-erasure. I do, very much, take bisexuality seriously and am never one to question someone's orientation. My issue is actually believing Gaga, specifically. I would not call her a pathological liar but I feel like she likes stretching the truth sometimes to appear cool and interesting. Maybe she stopped doing it now but it's something she was doing at the beginning of her career. That's why I always took it with a grain of salt.

And also, what is this "huge amount of bisexual songs Gaga wrote" everyone is talking about? Poker Face, Americano, okay. That's pretty much it?

:applause: Same thoughts (in the spoiler specifically). This isn’t a biphobia thing, I think, at least not for me.

I think the doesn't want to define her sexuality because she seems to be hetero-romantic bisexual and maybe she feels not 'gay' enough to define herself as bi anymore. Her living her life how she wants is also a form of acceptance. She might feel she's in too much of a privileged position where her sexuality is accepted so therefor she'd rather be seen as an ally and focus on the bigger issues others face than her own position on the spectrum.

And to those saying she's straight...I've seen her flirt hard with women, the girl is not straight.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

Didn't she say she was straight a few short years ago, like I think it was during pride or something and in an Instagram post or something small like that :duck: I can't remember exactly, but I remember being confused because I thought she was bisexual until then but then she herself had said she was straight. Sexuality's fluid anyway in my opinion so it's not a problem, it's just the last thing I remember hearing from her about it was that she was straight
