It’s obviously obscene - but the answer isn’t an increase in ‘capital gains tax’ as the video suggests. 

The answer is a more comprehensive, tiered taxation system. For example, in the UK, there’s often talk of applying the highest tax bracket (50%) to those earning only around £70,000. It’s a great salary, sure... but clearly, when you read stats like the above, these aren’t the people the governments and charities should be fighting. 

And that’s my problem with a lot of these left economic policies. The answer isn’t to attack the middle classes who often keep things ticking, it’s to attack the absolute elite. And whilst this video is headlined with a stat targeted at these, it’s main point is to increase general capital gains tax, which is totally not the answer for a prosperous economy.

If they were to spend this money or if you "rebalanced/redistributed wealth" you'd simply get a bunch of inflation

 

Rich people hoard a lot of cash and wealth that exists in paper or stocks it's just a face value... Stocks in particular which is the majority of their wealth kind of just appears and disappears depending on the value placed. The moment some of it starts getting pulled the entire wealth value drops with it

 

But we have a limited production of goods and services... If you took this money out of the rich and gave it to poor to spend we'd still have the same amount of production of goods and services to go around but more money chasing it

 

The result would be inflation

So many people dies because they don't have enough money for medicines or surgery, so many people don't have a house or so many people starving... zero chances. 

I mean...I'm not jealous. But MILION of people must die just for these 26 persons can have that amount of money just for ''having it''

Imagine taking their money and giving them to the people who are barely surviving.
