When they said Yalitza, I was like "please don't say Blunt, say Close" then "Close!" and I JUMPED!

I was waiting to see if Blunt got in, cuz she would be next after Yalitza, if she got win I would freak out cuz that would probably mean Gaga was out :huntyga:

Honestly why the hell is Black Panther nominated for best picture? I mean I know the reason why BUT judging it just as a movie - it’s just another superhero movie..

because of the indirect message towards Trump and all the "political correctness" messages.

It was honestly one of the worse superhero movie i have ever watched, it doesn't portrayed any "super hero" elements at all.

Black Panther got rave reviews tho

Black Panther is revolutionary BUT as far as a quality of it’s plot and story goes it’s right there with Bohemian Rhapsody (and I love that movie) aka it’s such a crowd pleaser and nothing extraordinary.

It underperformed a little bit: it missed Best Director and Best Film Editing, which means it won't win Best Picture, as expected.

It'll probably win just Best Original Song and Best Sound Mixing:huh:

Anyway, Gaga's nomination in Best Leading Actress is HUGE:legend::firega:

honestly, as long as BP or BR doesn't win best picture, I'm ok with any other movie

the thing is that BR got just as many noms as BP and thats more disturbing, since BR got so many negative reviews

Omg I was waaaay to nervous to watch live, but I woke up this morning with “Glitter and Grease” stuck in my head for no reason and I knew that was a good omen :ladyhaha:

Soooo proud of our girl :golfclap:

Surprised about Bradley’s snub for director, but who the hell knows what’s going on with his campaign anymore?!?! Maybe he’ll get actor after this and I’ll fall off the couch

I honestly feel as if the situation is different in a world and we were more accepting and that if seeing majority of black actors/actresses in one movie is not something unusual - it would get just as many bad reviews as BR.. it’s plot is so underwhelming and at times it gets so boring.. I honestly don’t think either of them deserve this many nominations.

Out of all movies, the first comment by a host of the broadcast about nominations here in Italy: "I'm so happy for Lady Gaga, her nomination is huge, she didn't just sing in a movie, i know she studied and worked a lot for this role and for her acting, she totally deserves it" :diane:

Italy supporting their Italian actress.

Four SAG Awards nominated performers won’t be in contention at the Oscars: “Mary Poppins Returns” leading lady Emily Blunt, who was also snubbed for her supporting turn in “A Quiet Place,” breakout “BlacKkKlansman” star John David Washington,  Timothee Chalamet for “Beautiful Boy” and Margot Robbie for “Mary Queen of Scots.”

Also missing is leading man Ethan Hawke in “First Reformed” who  won the lion’s share of regional critics awards.

I'm really glad Melissa McCarthy is nominated too.

Her performance in CYEFM was incredible.

In my messy era.
