Why did Gaga avoid hits/success with LG5?

We know from RedOne/#2018RadioIsOurs and other sources that Gaga had/has an album full of “Gaga” sized mega hits shelved somewhere. RedOne himself said thst Frankenstein would make us fans go crazy and would put her at the top of all music charts in the world again.

what are your opinions on why Gaga purposefully avoided putting this music out, being number 1 everywhere again and most importantly do you think she will ever allow herself or be able to reach such success with her music as she did 10 years ago?

I certainly would like to know. We all (many) want Popga again. Maybe she felt she had rebranding to do? She fell hard in the eyes of the GP, so maybe she felt it wasn’t yet time.

Gaga is driven by other factors besides pure pop music success metrics.  On the other hand, she has many fans that seem to be obsessed with metrics, probably because of some need for self-validation or to feel part of the in-group.

It was confirmed that the sessions with ReDone were literally just to get her ready for a new album cycle. They were never intended to be released

Because she’s been there and done that. She is one of if not the most versatile musicians of her stature and she’s made it clear that showcasing different sides if her telent and musicality is more important than getting a dance/electropop record to #1.

EDIT: I also think that the trauma she endured at her peak of fame makes her NOT want to go back to #1 records and endless promo. I think that ‘pop music’ could actually be a little triggering for her. She seems much happier now than she seemed from BTW-ARTPOP and we should be happy our girl’s in a good place

Gaga still want to prove that she can make a hit song ala badromance/pokerface without redone .. She's a great artist and she's extremely talented but i'm here still waiting for her to create something phenomenal as bad romance and the whole magic she made with redone .

Maybe someday

She's doesn't avoid hits. She avoids releasing projects that she doesn't 100% stand behind. That may result in less commercial success, but honestly who cares about that besides fans that live vicariously through celebrities?

She changed LG5 to Joanne concept probably when she started the talks to do A Star Is Born? She was rebranding herself since Cheek to Cheek, and she probably thought it was safe to return to a more dance-pop concept. But then she saw the opportunity to go even further in her career by cementing herself as a even more versatile singer, and a more approachable one, thus the stripped-down, country-Americana inspired Joanne.

ARTPOPSTER

Joanne was a necessary, wonderful course correction. It was the first self-written album after ARTPOP. C2C was planned before the release of ARTPOP. So I feel that Gaga used the opportunity to create something she enjoyed/supported and to prove to the GP she was not just a vapid pop star.

She wrote and co produced at least every song in all of her albums .. She stand behind everything . She's not rihanna or beyonce so what u're talking about ?

She just did the music she wanted to do. It's not avoiding hits, it's just her writing what she wants to sing in that moment, not caring about anything else
