SharkmanthaC 114,628
So this is not meant to spark more debate about R. Kelly (seriously). I'm just wondering what the general consensus is about Do What You Want. I've seen positive and negative remarks about it, so what is your opinion? (I'd love for this thread to stay just about the song, not R. Kelly...post on the other thread for that.) Edit: Thought I'd share my opinion. I love the song, just not R. Kelly. she/her/hers
KatieJudasGaga4 67,907
It's my favorite song on ARTPOP so..
shame 25,360
aesthetically it's perfect. gaga's vocals stun, lyrics are inspired and the instrumental is ethereal. but it's hard to listen to at times when you put the song in context with the featured singer's past angels forever, forever angels
SKANK 14,288
It's brilliant. It's an 80's horror movie soundtrack meets a sexy R&B song. I hope she samples more Dance With The Dead in the future. If it wasn't for a couple lapses in judgment, associating the song with Terry Richardson and R. Kelly, "problematic" promotional performances and music video, it would have been a massive hit. I just listen to the solo version.
Teal Ambition 47,805
Yes, it's one of the best from the album! ▌│█║▌║▌║ before I am Canadian, I am Chromatican ║▌║▌║█│▌
Tresor 1,649
Yes. It hasn't really aged well considering the circumstances. But you better believe she had even the hetero's shook with that song in 2013. It could have been one of her biggest hits ever had she promoted it more. But as we now know, maybe it's best she let it fade from public consciousness.
Dilwyn 4,090
it's a great song, could have been a huge hit for gaga, it's a shame that has r. kelly on it.

Borislshere 53,040
The solo version of course but at this point, I can't even enjoy that. The whole song is just tainted.
LaLa 19,651
I only ever listen to the solo version, but that I love! I can’t be objective about the album version, unfortunately

2School4Cool 6,434
I love absolutely every version of this song. One of my favorite versions is the piano and xylophone version she sang once on a TV show (I forget what show it was). I don’t know much about R. Kelley, so regardless of him as a person, I enjoy his verse on the song (although I probably prefer the Christina version, two powerhouse vocalists delivering amazing vocals). This is actually one of my favorite Gaga songs, regardless of what version of the song it is. See The Best In Everyone
ARTPOPSTER 4,246
Literally one of my favorite songs. I’m sad that it Gaga will probably never play it again, but I still have the Alan Carr performance.
