You will never hear Bey get out breath or at least it isn't really noticeable + her dancing is always energetic and sharp through her 2 hour shows. Her sets are also very clean and you only focus on Bey and her dancers, no sistracting props needed. Gaga in the other hand, is more creative and theatrical but gets tired very quickly and her dancing is really sloppy, but it's understandable since she's ill. Anyways, that's just my opinion. See all the points you made are related to her techniques. I’ll admit that Beyoncé is a great performer technically (but her dancing is not as good as her fans praise her to be). When you see past all these techniques which can be acquired and trained, her performances are usually a routine to be executed to precision and perfection with her so called fierce attitude and very often lack soul, humor, genius, warmth, human touches and spontaneity (which in itself reflect who she is as an artist). anyway this is my observation but to each their own

Its basically what keeps her from being the greatest imo. Her performances originate from both commercial value /money and her desire to be worshipped / her narcissistic persona. I will just stop here. Her goddess BS and desire to be worshipped is definitely displayed in her visuals but in terms of polished projects and performances, that has nothing to do with it. In fact, that is what Gaga lacks. It seems like it worked in the past with TF/Monster but since BTW and the ‘creative differences’ and over saturation it’s been a mess. ShayCristoforo 10,607
If you take anything at face value, you will be disappointed. The richness is in the details. For example, Gaga didn't NEED to do motion capture for PetGa. They could have hired an animator more easily. But she chose to go the extra mile, because she is Gaga. There are a number of high caliber details. Not to mention another point, which is that the whole show is like a musical. Requiring a value of writing that other Vegas shows and concerts in general do not try. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

It’s very impressive actually, whether you like the idea of it or not. I’m so conflicted.

She's been doing the same performances (as in no new renditions of songs or new choreos) for years now, idk why yall thought that will change now. JazzGa 14,620
IDK what yall were expecting, for her whole career Gaga has hyped up fusing "technology" with "pop" and it has always been the cheesiest inventions. First we had the LED Sunglasses from The Fame era, then the bombed collab with Polaroid from TFM era, to the underwhelming Volantis from ARTPOP era, to the "power rings" and keyboard with jiggly legs from the Intel x Bowie tribute, to the cringey hype about the "technology" in GUY when it turned out it was just a Minecraft Youtuber feature Part of me wishes she would stop with all the nerd drag, but I also think it might be pushed on her from the outside, ("this is your BRAND" type of crap). Now her cheesy inventions have grown on me as a part of the typical Gaga shtick. My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <

Same as making music videos, short films, and album covers an actual anticipated large event. However, since then Gaga has failed to bring something ‘new’ to the table. Instead, the rest of the industry took her formula and slightly adjusted it to be more commercial and then got 10x more success. Makes me kinda sad. Makes me kinda sad. This is so true. I think the ARTPOP era was, in part, a quest to find a new way to push the envelope and re-write the popstar formula. She's still trying to re-write the popstar career formula, but doing it in ways that are less directly related to pop performances now (unexpected jazz chanteuse and acting turns) My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <
SlaeUrAnus 15,955
Ya'll are so extra. I was so glad that I seen 'Gaga' come out to play again. I do not care much about the stage design, costumes, wigs, lipstick colour or anything else remotely more shallow than that. All I cared about what seeing her perform and her fierce attitude, and I got an extra treat seeing her perform DITD, TF & BDR. You guys just love to hype things to the point where you're expecting this groundbreaking show. You take Gaga's (and her teams) words, hype them up, and then complain when you're let down. It's ya'll at fault for expecting too much. In my messy era.

If they are so much alike how come the latter is such a downgrade to the first ones? I think most of complainers are the ones that moved on from Gaga and no longer are the light in her and try to justify it so many ways. Their passion is gone, not Gaga's. Yes, being a fan doesnt mean constant blid blind to every project, but having that connection with you idol. Once the connection is gone, it's no surprise you are always unsatisfied. /Thread In my messy era.
FlopSlurper 34,336
I think Gaga's biggest problem and her team is that they don't take (constructive) criticism and don't even give each other that, they're all "yes-men" to each other and that's really bad for them
DonnieDarko 10,186
The biggest problem of Gaga and her team are her fans, tbh @adammonroe The show is flawless and gives us everything we wanted from her. END THREAD
