I don’t know about his politics but based off what he said I think this is a good thing. People need to be reminded that not all conservatives are... like *****. And if we HAVE to have another Republican President next term I’d be more than happy to take someone other than that guy.

If he out-primaries him, then Flake will clinch the nomination. If that's the case, Trump can't (realistically) win.

Trump is overwhelmingly popular with republicans tho, so that won’t happen. Jeff Flake didn’t even run for re-election because he couldn’t win the primary as the incumbent.

If Republicans can get an alternative, they may drop him. It's better than no challenger.

They won’t drop him. Trump is extremely popular with members of the party. In October he had an 84% approval rating with members of the party. He should have no problem competing with someone as empty as Jeff Flake. Trump would destroy him.

A majority of the approval numbers for Republicans are superficial. If Fox News & establishment turn on him (like Rush did about the wall a week ago) it will crumble support.

Luckily for Trump his base believes him over the media (even fox) and his base makes up a majority of the gop.

Yea, but a majority of his base isn't on twitter either, sure they may believe him more, but his message is received through fox news & fox business. Believe me, if they turn on him, the sheep will follow. (at least enough to make a difference)

He might go his own way on some GOP policy and piss them off too.

Perhaps some will be swayed but I don’t think it would be enough to sink his primary race. At this point, the president has a cult like following and they won’t let fox tell them he sucks. Keep in mind they supported establishment hoes in 2016 and he still won.

True, but if Dems can run a better candidate, it won't be like 2016.
