Enigma's thoughts about Enigma

Hey guys as you may have noticed I'm milking the **** out of my username to get that gagadaily relevance, don't mind me (actually do :triggered:)

I wanted to share my feelings about this show since it's been something I've been eagerly expecting since it was announced, mostly because of what I thought it would be.

So just to give a little background, I created my account about two years ago. I picked the username Enigma simply because Aura was and still is my favourite song ever, and the "Enigma pop star is fun she wears burqa for fashion" lyrics are my favourite lyrics by Gaga and striked me somehow. No need to say I'm ARTPOP's #1 fan, with Venus being a close second favorite of mine.

Anyway, you may have guessed that when she announced her Vegas show would be titled ENIGMA for seemingly no reason, I was pissing myself.

It was weird from her to revisit a concept she had created around 2013 years later, especially since it wasn't explored a lot back then.

Now, knowing Aura was meant to be the lead single of ARTPOP, and knowing that there was sooooooooooooooooooo much from this era that was supposed to happen but that couldn't, I figured that maybe we would finally get a continuation of ARTPOP somehow. I'm not saying the actual ARTPOP II with Tea, Temple, Brooklyn Nights and all those songs, but more like something in the same theme, fitting the narrative.

After all, DJWS had posted something about LG6 being ARTPOP's little sister.

Then, Gaga posted this teaser revealing Petga was involved. I was then convinced that what I had predicted was happening. I was in heaven. Petga was related to the Aura stuff in the ARTPOP app, so everything made sense.

Now, about the actual show.

STOP READING HERE IF THIS IS ABOUT TO RUIN YOUR POSITIVITY MINDSET OR WHATEVER, BECAUSE I'M BEING HONEST

First bummer : Aura is not the opener. What a ****ing missed opportunity. Everyone here was calling it, it was perfect, this whole show felt like an excuse to bring back Aura to the GP's eye or something... But instead it was thrown in the middle of the show. The actual line where Enigma is referenced had no relevancy to the show and there wasn't even something to highlight it, not a single beatdrop, special choreo move or sound effect, NOTHING.

Second bummer : Enigma from the show seemingly has nothing to do with Petga besides looking identical ?

Third bummer : TWO ARTPOP songs. TWO.

Fourth bummer : No new song. She never said there would be. BUT all year long we've been teased about new music and I can't think of a better setup to release something than tonight's show. Now, if the show was SPECTACULAR I wouldn't mind. But it wasn't. It was another Greatest Hits show right after the JWT which was one too, but better.

Fifth bummer : The interludes and story had nothing to do with the songs. This whole Enigma futuristic anime video game stuff leads us to ****ing Shallow. This was the cherry on the cake. Little ASIBsters have won I guess.

There were positive things, it's still a Gaga show, so it's way above average. The vocals were amazing, she's great at dancing, the lights and stuff were perfect, etc. I'm skipping over this part because, well, I'm in a bad mood about the show so it's hard to talk a lot about what was actually good, but also because this is something consistent with her shows, so there's not much to add.

Also I thought the video game theme, despite being badly used, was great. The interludes were the best part of the show. If only they had any kind of relevant substance.

I loved that there was a storyline, because it's the one thing I look forward the most about her shows, and the little acting parts were great and fresh. But what she was actually saying was Shallow™ and the same cheesy speeches she's been giving us at each tour (not that I mind them, but girl, don't act as if they make up for a good storyline).

I'm gonna say it : I am letdown.

I will forever love Gaga because her legacy is amazing and I'm so grateful for the amazing moments she's provided me since Just Dance came out.

But sadly I feel like she's not delivering as much as she used to. I don't know if it's because she doesn't care for pop anymore, or if it's because her team is poorly doing... But whenever she does something pop related nowadays, it feels like the same cold unpersonal stuff we've been having for years.

Enigma is NOT Enigma approved. Sorry :deadbanana:

I'm sorry you feel letdown. Hopefully she adds something to the show later that you might like.

Thanks for understanding. I guess she can still flesh out the storyline, and in 3 years it's clear that a new album is being released. It's a bit sad tho that this wan't all planned beforehands...
