SharkmanthaC 114,698
I just finished watching A Star is Born in IMAX, so thought I would share a few thoughts. If you haven’t seen the movie at all, I will try to avoid spoilers but please don’t continue reading if you don’t want to know. This was my 5th time going to see A Star is Born, and I’ll say that I did pick up on things again this time. However, the IMAX sound is amazing. I think that when I have seen it before the sound was not Dolby, however from a quick Google search it claims that sound is even better. The music was great with such a great background. The movie was good on a larger screen, but camera movements are much more noticeable. I asked my husband about this, who is a videographer/photojournalist, he said that you could just really tell the difference because of the camera being shouldered. I was able to pick up on some lines I hadn’t before, like Ally saying “I don’t know where my mother is.” During the credits, there was a different version of Always Remember Us this Way (at least the first part). I’m sure some of you already knew that though. The “documentary” lasted roughly 7 minutes and it was mostly Bradley discussing why he made the choices about camera angles, etc. There was no extra Gaga interviews. They did show clips from the behind the scenes videos that are on YouTube (like the making the sound video). I think some of these are new clips, but there aren’t a lot of them. There is also some video of them filming and seeing how that was done. There is a brief discussion about filming at the festivals. Bradley also praises Gaga and how he had to make sure the film was up to her standard basically. He basically says he had to make the film to match her authenticity. If you really want to see it in IMAX, it’s a great experience; however, the documentary was disappointing. I guess I was expecting more from it. But, obviously I’m a fan of the movie, so I’m not upset about seeing it again. she/her/hers

Chris Evans 8,917
so excited for the IMAX experience but I agree as Gaga stans there's not much that is new/we already don't know when it comes to these things or some of her interviews since they're not tailored for us
Der Meister 3,000
I bet the 'Shallow' performance looks out of this world on that big screen.

Ashley 9,599
What a funny coincidence, I saw it in IMAX yesterday too and just caught the “I don’t know where my mother is” line. I think that was the main difference between IMAX and Dolby, the sound was even louder. I could actually feel my seat shaking during the music scenes lol. GypsyBabe 22,836
I noticed the mother line, but not until like the second or third time that I saw the film. I would love to see it in imax, but I have seen it so many times and am trying to save every penny for Vegas. ⚯͛

When in the movie does she say that? When Jack is putting together the ring at Chappelle/Noodles house. She isn't on camera, but you can hear her say it to Noodle's wife, right before she says "Does anyone want any more mac & cheese?" she/her/hers

freebit 6,240
So no new crucial scenes were added? I was hoping they'd put in them performing Diggin' My Grave or Is That Alright? being performed at the wedding, or even that weird scene with the ruby slippers (as described in her interview with Variety a few weeks ago).
