And when I saw the announcement on GGD when I clicked on it, I thought it just had 2 nominations and I tune in to find there is 5! I read them on her Wiki page and moved my hand down so I could reveal all the awards bit by bit and I wondered what on earth was the last on the list with a big long title and find it's Joanne! She's coming back for her revenge, redemption and the award for that album was rightfully hers! I think the academy is really feeling like they did Gaga wrong after everything has gone stratospheric for her after this year's Grammys. They feel like they now look like fools for not giving her more nominations for Joanne and not allowing her to win any of them, despite getting her to perform. The fact they've nominated Joanne, a song that didn't get anywhere on the charts and has resulted in only one big performance at the Grammys shows they really feel like they need to reward her for something to do with that album. Which also means that, against all the odds, she could win in that category because it's such a bizarre, unexpected nomination that has no bearing no chart performance or impact, suggesting that the academy thinks she genuinely deserves this win and/or are scrabbling to let her win for something, anything associated with that album which they sacrificed for wins to Ed Sheeran. I also think they're correcting themselves for the sexism row that erupted last time and really want to make sure females do well this time. I'm also blown away at lots of the snubs. Ariana and Camila only got 2 nominations, Taylor, Eminem, Pink and JT only got 1 and Ed got nothing. And yet Xtina got 2! This is a Grammys with a difference. Let me break down the possibilities for you: If she wins 1, she'll be tied with Madonna's total Grammy wins, if she wins 2, she'll have beaten Madonna's total Grammy wins, if she wins 3, she'll have entered the list of the most Grammy wins for a female artist, if she wins 4, she'll be tied with Taylor Swift's total Grammy wins and if she wins all 5, she'll be tied with Shirley Cesar for the most Grammy wins for a female artist and be the overall 7th most decorated female in Grammy history.
